on xbox you need to do it in the system settingsSo how do you turn off the HDR without Disabling it on the TV?
It's easier to just turn it off on my TV input, perhaps. I wonder it there is a quality difference one way or another. Does it make you restart the game when you switch if you do it in system?on xbox you need to do it in the system settings
That is the proper way.on xbox you need to do it in the system settings
Nah I know of a game with a 78 metacritic score and a userscore of 4.1

I think I've wrung everything out of this game that I could. My camp just picked up and established anew in The New South and I don't feel compelled to go any further. My final review.
+ Graphics/Art direction are out of this world.
+ Phenomenal music.
+ Excellent animation.
o Story is hit or miss with me. Good for the medium (games), bad for the genre (Westerns). Writing team fails to convey to the player why this band is following Dutch. He talks like a used car salesman and sits at camp the whole time harrassing the earners.
- Combat
- Mission structure
- Controls
- No intensity
There's a frequently used phrase among game critics, "Game doesn't value the players time". I think that applies perfectly here. Rockstar is beyond smitten with itself on this one and instead of allowing the player to take it all in at their own pace, they force you to take it in at their (slow) pace. Missions are set up to play out exactly like Rockstar envisioned. Experiment even a little bit and the game forces you to do it over. They also put a big portion of their budget into animations. If you want to make any quick adjustments, good luck, Rockstar wants you to watch every tiny shift in weight the character goes through before you're on your way. This isn't so much a sandbox, it's a point and click adventure game.
Yet, perhaps the games biggest sin is it's inability to get the player to care. The "intense" parts are simply not intense. There's no punishment at any time if you fail at anything. You don't lose any progress. You don't lose any materials. You don't lose any time. You simply load the last checkpoint and pick up right before things went wrong for you. I found my mind drifting during these action scenes because at no point was anything of value really at risk.
Recommended for players who can lose themselves in the worlds and stories of past open world games. Can't recommend it to gamers with the motto "gameplay is king."
Final Verdict: 7.5/10
Hope you guys enjoy it! I'm off to go replay either Horizon Zero Dawn or MGSV...
risky, that can result in HDR color gamut being converted to SDR which will result in worse pictureNope, although the game still shows you hdr settings in the game menue.
But according to digital foundry, the game already runs in sdr....risky, that can result in HDR color gamut being converted to SDR which will result in worse picture
so if you change it mid game i highly recommend restarting the game if you want accurate picture
yeah i guess for RDR2 it might be fine lolBut according to digital foundry, the game already runs in sdr....
If you restart it, you will get brightness settings instead of HDR adjustment. It does make a difference, as it's still running HDR with an SDR tone map. It is definitely different. But according to digital foundry, the game already runs in sdr....
Mine didn't bug, but was getting slammed by work this week, so only got to first camp. Now that things are quieting back down, I'm thinking of restarting just to get swept back in.I had to restart the game tonight because my game was bugged. The boring intro missions were a lot better since I knew what I was doing instead of being bombarded with the constant messages distracting me. It looks so much better after disabling HDR as well.

Abigail showed up for a mission at the 2nd camp and I forgot who she was lol hadn't seen her for so damned long.
If a character isn't at the camp, I just assume they are out "working" . It makes no sense that they would always be there. Morgan ain't the only one 'Hustlin'
Well what hell is Jack the kid doing? If a character isn't at the camp, I just assume they are out "working" . It makes no sense that they would always be there. Morgan ain't the only one 'Hustlin'

Why does any gang follow a gang leader? Common goals and comradery with like-minded individuals... they're basically a family and Dutch is the one calling the shots that have kept them alive and thriving thus far up until the Blackwater incident.
It ain't that deep man.
