I played about 30 minutes of GTA online. It wasn't for me. Not competitive enough in nature. But I did see the allure of driving around a big city, in a variety of land/sea/air vehicles with a bunch of different weapons against other players.
In RDR2, it's a whole lot of flat land with a whole lot of horses, and a whole lot of rifles.
If Rockstar is thinking "Fans liked tooling around the GTAV map, I'm sure they'll like tooling around the RDR2 map just as much" I think they have another thing coming.
They've got to have a different solution for multiplayer.
I love the crazy little things that just pop up out of nowhere.
Also I have to say I think this has the most satisfying melee combat of any Rockstar game to date. I took on 5 guys outside of the saloon yesterday and beat them all but I couldn't record it because the One X only allows 30 seconds unless you set it to record before hand then it's 2 minutes. I wish they'd let you do 15 minutes like the PS4 does.
You do that the first online world they made was in the original RDR? They built on that to bring GTA Online to life. There was still people playing that when I spun it up again back in March. I have no doubt they’ll deliver again with the online for this one.
Won't be a mess like Fortnite that's for sure
What a mess is right...
Isn't there another game you like that you want to talk about?
Why don’t you tap the home button, go over to the broadcast tab, down to capture, and then choose the last 5 minutes.
But fortnite is a game for kids and non real gamers. It's a candy crush game. Celebs playing it aren't gamers, they're attention seeking whores who have lost touch with the young people they try to claim as fans.I didn't bring it up but I'll be damned if someone fails to put respeck on that name.
About to jump on Red Dead. Going to look for that 97 some more ya feel me?
why you always complain and sound bitter? How does this negative posting of yours make you feel? Have you had any childhood trauma that you think could've had impact on how you see the world today? Do you sometime (or always) feel like the world, and the people in it, has let you down? Does playing fortnite make you feel better or worse mentally?3 O'Driscals start a random fight with me. All three of em start shooting me unprovoked. I fire back and kill all three.
This draws the attention of a Witness who yells he's taking this to the law. I chase him down to try and explain what happened. No "explain what happened" prompt comes up. Another person sees me on the ground with this guy. Now he's running to the law.
I let the first witness go. 13 seconds later a bunch of Sheriffs are shooting at me. Now I have to pay a $30 dollar bounty in Valentine because of poor design.

Interesting..
This actually sounds pretty accurate of a situation and the way it should have escalated and played out in the end...kinda baffled you don't see this. Rewind and read your words.
How is this not awesome and true to the story and predicament you're in? Why do you think you can just explain the violence and everything is ok again, regardless of what the witness has said to the sheriffs?
Did you think they would give you a medal or understanding pat on the back for this death and mayhem in town? This is not poor design..you expect to be the treated a certain way.

You think the game shouldn't recognize self defense?
I understand if people love this game. I don't understand ignoring all of it's glaring issues.

Eh, they'd still likely come after you- it's a murder in town, and they wouldn't know if you were at fault or not, but something dangerous went down.
What you should do is shoot them, wait for the Law to show, but have your gun sheathed and see if you can diffuse it some. They may arrest you but I wonder if they'd just shoot you. You can still pay your way out. I don't play i t that way though.
Also, these complex systems are a huge part of what makes the game more interesting and dynamic, so it not being a perfect analogue or it screwing up every now and then is not that big a deal. The game is supposed to make you more aware of your actions.
Would YOU just not go to a cop if you watched someone shoot down 3 people in the street if they just "explained it" to you after? As far as you know, that witness in the scenario only saw you shoot them. You are assuming this little guy had all of your knowledge of the situation. He probably just knows three people were shot in the street (it's an NPC, they don't "know" anything ).
I wonder if you just sprint everywhere, or beeline from one mission to the next. It isn't that kind of game, and if you play it that way, you will miss the point, and what makes it specifically different.
I literally got a cup of coffee in the camp, slowly walked to the cliff-edge, and sipped the coffee why enjoying the view... and it was awesome. No other game has done that and made it feel right and natural. The closest thing for me is The Witcher 3. The game is something else for this reason, not because it's open world, or has perfect controls (which I have zero issues with).
@ that being a glaring issue
Oh no, there's a ton of glaring issues being swept under the rug. There isn't just one.
You are just trying too hard as usual
But on the other hand at least you aren't talking about Fortnite so carry on
Thanks for your permission, lol.
The game has one of, if not the largest critic vs user score discrepancies of the generation.
The game who last held that unfortunate title was MGSV. Critics gave that game a 93, users an 82.
Red Dead 2 shatters that gap with a 97 critic score and a 75 user score.
Look, open world games like this are hard. There's so many things a developer needs to cram into it that getting it all right is near impossible. Rockstar nailed it on a lot of aspects and blew it on a lot of others. I don't see how ignoring the negative aspects is productive.
One of the best features early on in Red Dead Redemption 2 is the camp dynamic, which allows you to communicate and interact with a variety of characters. A lot of the things that happen in camp are optional, but it lends a realism to the game world that makes it feel like you’re riding with genuine people. Everyone will go about their business, preparing meals, playing games, and singing songs – it’s all top-notch stuff.
However, there’s a lot of chatter about a bug which removes multiple characters from the camp entirely: Sadie, John, Abigail, and Jack. There’s currently a huge thread on Reddit about the issue, and one poster seems to have isolated the problem to an early Uncle mission where you take three girls into the town of Valentine. Apparently upon completing this it’s possible you may return to camp with the aforementioned characters missing.
While the likes of Marston will re-appear temporarily to hand out missions, it sounds like all of the characters will be completely absent during general camp exploration. It’s unclear how you avoid the bug at this time; one poster suggests tackling the abovementioned Uncle objective at night, but it all seems random until Rockstar issues a patch. We’ll keep an eye on the situation, but hopefully this is cleaned up quickly.
