What rating would you give your Xbox One X, as a console?

I gave mine a 9.5/10. (came back, changed it to 10)

+ Twice the pixel-pushing power of a Pro (more than I expected)
+ Takes full(er) advantage of a 4K TV
+ Game Pass is great, much better selection than PS Now.
+ Controller is the best.
+ BC is a fantastic program, especially with the improved visuals/performance

The only real negative is the install times.

It's a good console, sadly the 1st party stuff just isn't there for someone like me but the hardware is good.

Gave it an 8.5 because the updates never download and install until I sign in (and yes all the settings are right lol) and the only games I want to play on it are new 3rd party games that actually have One X upgrades, anything that doesn't is better played on my other console . Also not a fan of the UI and how clunky it is.

I’m going to go with 8.5 simply because I need to send mine in to MS. Fan sounds like a jet enigine when playing a game.

Otherwise, dope console. Would buy again.

As hardware, its hard to ask for more. Still got tons of games to play, and getting the BC remasters is awesome. Gamepass (before I lost internet) was great, and gold is too. Button up those first party offerings and my 9.5 goes to 10!

As a regular PC guy, I'm extremely impressed by what some developers can get out of it. RDR2 being native 4k is actually kind of astonishing.

I love the console and can't wait to see what Gears 5 does with it. On the hardware side it's 10 for me.

Graphics and 4K are Awesome.
Good that they got Spotify on board. Albeit much later than Sony.
Best controller in the industry by a mile.

Not happy with laggy UI.
Have occasional controller disconnects.

Overall I still give it 8.5

Gave it a 9. It would have been 9.5 if not for UI running like crap lately and the occasional controller disconnects.

I voted 9.5. My only gripe has always been with the UI. Things just take longer than they should. It takes too long to get into the updates section (where I shouldn't even need to go to fire off updates). It is fine really, but it does consistently get in my way at times (which is very typical of MS interfaces). They tend to try and overthink when they should keep things simpler. Honestly, give me 10 pins of the last 10 things I used in reverse order and that's all I need. Not all this noise for each game page.

That's all nitpicky though. I love the X1X for pretty much all my multiplat games now.

9.5. Lose a .5 because of the slow UI lately.

9.5 for me. I was happy with upgrading to a 4K HDR set and seeing what the One X can do. I just hate the laggy UI. It is a pain to do some stuff on the dashboard when you want to do something quick.

Poll results are very positive. 87% gave it either a 9.0 or above, and the remainder gave it 8.5. Looks like the average score is 9.5.

I saw a similar result at GAF, fwiw. 90% of the people gave it a 9.0 or above. I wonder what you'd get, if you did a similar poll for the Pro. I like my Pro, but I'm guessing the average score would be about an 8.

Pro id give a 7.5-8

Not a huge jump-
No improved sound-
Not enough older exclusives enhanced-
No UHDBR-

8.5 it's hard to see it go from amazing 360 dash to good xbox one launch dash to what we got now... it's pretty mindboggling tbh, who at ms comes up with these changes?

Positives:
  • Game Pass is excellent
  • Power for price is very good
  • Backwards compatibility evolved
  • Elite controller layout, options and feel
  • Strong media center. All major apps covered. Amazon Alexa and music integration.
Negatives:
  • Store still needs work
  • App on phone needs work. Game Pass app on the phone is better than Xbox store or Xbox app.
  • My ISPs aren’t compatible with Azure and I still don’t know who to blame. (ISPs keep pointing finger at Microsoft)
  • Elite controller reliability
  • 1st party output gap
Overall very happy with the direction of everything on the system. Excited to see what happens with the studios they purchased and further evolution of cloud compute. Highest I’ve been about the brand since it’s prime during the OG Xbox and early 360 days.

Gave it a 7. Solid console that lacks exclusives that interest me but hey, at least it can play old games through BC. Without that feature i'm not sure i'd use it for much more than a cable box. 90% of my gaming is done on PS4/Switch/3DS these days. No time really for Xbox even if it had games that i care about.
