Metacritic can cram it up their ass and break it off with no Vaseline mate.....just sayin'.Despite the fact that many if us seem to love this game, the user reviews on Metacritic average to 54/100. Critics rated it 60/100 on average.

Yep first time since playing crysis 1 I felt like games made a decent step up visually, that and the forest. The part where you go back to Rome in the later stages, the lighting is so good I literally stood in the sunlight for a few minutes just rotating my character looking at him. Also looking at the walls, cobblestone etc..
Just beat Ryse on Centurion and I got to say it was a great game. I can honestly say that I really liked this game but I don't know if I'll ply threw it again as I have a hard time doing that for any game.Anybody that has an Xbox one needs to play this game just to look at it.
My review of Ryse:
True Next Gen Graphics (as expected from Crytek)
Some good music (as expected from Crytek)
Really terrible story that really felt like a half-baked effort with poorly excuted plot twists (Even Lords of Shadows wasn't this bad)
Boring and repetitive gameplay

Ok.See, Im doubting that you played it. It wasn't long enough to be boring and repetitive.
I disagree with that extent. They may not have enjoyed it and if their reviews were their honest opinions, they're valid. They may turn out to be wrong for most people, but the whole point of reviews is for people to see what the reviewers thought of the game. It doesn't mean that it's a lack of ethics though. Same thing with people in the other forum bashing Polygon's review of KZ:SF - if a reviewer thinks the game is a turd, their ethical duty is to say that they think it's a turd, not to soft-sell it.
well lets be honest here other than the looks the game play of ryse is nothing special. it's game play that has been done 900 times before. Now this is not a bad thing to me as it's the type of game play I like so I'm pretty sure I'd enjoy the game. It's the same as God Of War it's pretty much the same game every time but the looks just get better but man I love me some GOW. SO I can understand why people would think the GOW games suck.
Maybe if ryse really brought something new to the table other than looks it would have gotten higher scores.
Watched my son play Round to Round multiplayer this morning, I was surprised at the variety of maps. Looked like a lot of fun. he kept saying "this is awesome" over and over haha
Just wait for it to hit the $20-30 bargain bin. I'll estimate March 2014.I wanna play Ryse, but I don't want to buy it at that price for a short campaign.

Solid 8/10 worst case.
Graphics 10/10
Gameplay 8/10 just as repetitive as any video game is.
Story 6.5/10 just as strong as any video game story.
Multiplayer ?/10
Sound 9.5/10
I also got COD ghosts and finished the single player. Just wanted to see the graphical difference between the 2 and I liked both. Ryse is better obviously but COD for a up scaled 720p looked great IMO. I couldn't tell it wasn't 1080p basically. Back to Ryse if COD reviewed so high I can't see how Ryse didn't. I've finished all the GOW on the play station and Ryse is pretty much the same just less fantasy more down and dirty realistic.
