No date yet for Winds of Winter but next month will see a Tyrion chapter released.

Here is a little tease...

Somewhere off in the far distance, a dying man was screaming for his mother. “To horse!” a man was yelling in Ghiscari, in the next camp to the north of the Second Sons. “To horse! To horse!” High and shrill, his voice carried a long way in the morning air, far beyond his own encampment. Tyrion knew just enough Ghiscari to understand the words, but the fear in his voice would have been plain in any tongue. I know how he feels.

Enough of the teasing George and just give us a solid release date already!

Don't worry, it's coming, but first he's gotta find a way to fit in flaccid wieners into his book.

I love that matt and Trey put a spoiler in but hid it behind a wiener joke.

I'm genuinely concerned that given the state of Martin's cholesterol and the speed at which he writes, we're never gonna see the end of this series.

Bring on Patrick Rothfuss' Doors of Stone..in what will probably be 20 f*cking 16.

I hate starting a series of books before it's finished and having to wait around for installments, that is unless the author can actually produce literature at a reasonable speed. So not GRRM then.

Damn, just finished all the novels........

Now what do I do?

And it sounds like the next one won't be out until late 2015.

So, do you guys think:

John Snow is dead? Could he survive his stab wounds or be resurrected by Melissandre? Was Ramsay's letter real or a fake? And if fake who could have written it and for what purpose? Will the Onion Knight sit the Iron Throne when all is said and done? haha j/k

To answer the first question in your spoiler: no.

I feel like this thread needs a resurrection for people who are caught up on the novels and want to discuss how that's being portrayed in the TV adaptation.

That was a pretty crazy episode tonight for a pretty major part of this series.

I really liked the scenes on Theon's situation with Ramsay and made it really interesting and maybe conveyed the situation better than the novel which is cool.

But something that annoyed me with the episode was the facial expressions of Tywin and Cersei. Always smiling at everything Joff did without any concern or even any hint that they disapproved of what he was doing in any way. Very strange.

The other very noticeable thing was Bronn apparently taking Ser Illyns place as the dude who will train Ser Jaime to wield a sword with his left hand. I'm not against that as I like Bronn's role in the show but it'll be interesting to see how they go about that change.

Another change is the way Tyrion's whore situation is gonna play out.

I wonder how I would process this episode if I didn't decide to read the novels between this season and the last. I'm almost certain I'd feel like a s*** ton of stuff just happened and what the hell is going on? Or maybe I'd not care about all the little things that are going on in the background the whole time and "finally he's f***ing dead!!!!" haha.

The Bronn change is because Payne's actor has terminal cancer and decided he wanted to go on a farewell music tour.

Oh and I'm also going with a No to the spoiler question simply because it ended on a cliffhanger which is not like George when a character really dies.

Ohhhhh, I was just reading about that actually but didn't realize he had terminal cancer, that's horrible.

I ended up listening to some Dr. Feelgood out of interest and it's great stuff I'm gonna have to listen to some of their albums. I love stuff like The Jam so it's right up my alley.

I'm gonna watch the latest episode again to catch things going on. I guess the Shae thing will probably happen the same way now that I think about it.

I'm actually really happy about Bronn as I enjoy the actor and character. Not to mention Ser Ilyn can't banter with Jaime considering he has no tongue eh? haha.

I'm really excited to see the next episode as the stuff immediately after Joff "choking" to death was really suspensful.

Wonder if they'll make any little changes there?

Well it looks like they decided not to reveal that it was Joffrey being the one who tried to have Bran killed

Yeah, big time!

I wonder if:

jon will end up saving the bran party at crasters keep and how that will play out? I'm sort of glad they changed that part as the novel version is slightly depressing and not very eventful. My biggest problem is just trying to figure out who's who in the Nights Watch, and also didn't Locke have a different path to the wall in the books? Cersei sent him there didn't she? But in the show he was at...Harrenhal? Some of that stuff is a bit confusing for me show vs. book has me all muddled with Bolton, Locke etc.

Not WoW but 'A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms' out tomorrow :)

Small update from Martin,

If nothing else, the enforced isolation has helped me write. I am spending long hours every day on THE WINDS OF WINTER, and making steady progress. I finished a new chapter yesterday, another one three days ago, another one the previous week. But no, this does not mean that the book will be finished tomorrow or published next week. It’s going to be a huge book, and I still have a long way to go. Please do not give any credence to any of the click-bait websites that like to parse every word of my posts as if they were papal encyclicals to divine hidden meanings.
