After 1 month my Xbox One disc drive has started making noise...

Has anybody else had this happen? It still works, but makes a buzzing/whirling sound that goes up and down in pitch anytime I put a Blu-ray or DVD in.....It just started out of nowhere while watching a movie on Blu-ray....

I had this problem! But now it seems to be working fine. But had me worry for a bit.

I just turned it upside down and smacked the disc drive a few times...now it seems to be working fine; The noise went away.... Guess I'm going to be sending it in soon:smash:

That smack technique seems to fix that issue. There were a few YouTube videos out there showing how to fix it. They haven't had any problems since. I have had no issues with my drive yet, but then again, I have only had it for a few days.

I gotta say, that thing was hilarious. I remember doing that with my years-old CD drive.

I still haven't inserted a disc into my X1. I should check it out right?

I put a disc in a month ago and haven't taken it out since. I hope it actually does come out when I push the button.

lol it happens right? If I was playing games only it would have been the same with me. For me disk drive in X1 exists for BDP functions only.

Well just checked it out and it works flawlessly. Whew dodged a bullet there. But yeah I think I'll probably use it like twice a year. I haven't bought a Music CD since The Black Eyed Peas Elephunk and a DVD since Gone in 60 Seconds. Exaggerated a bit there.:laugh:

It turns out the "fix" only lasted a few hours...then back came the noise...

I would 100% get it fixed/replaced by MS, why people would hit it as opposed to getting a brand new non broken console defies logic.

Oh, I'm definitely sending it in...I just wanted to see if it would work....and to teach it a lesson:grin:

My friend just got an XBOX ONE, but the box it shipped in had a huge hole in it, that actually went into the XBOX ONE box. He checked everything out and the Blu-ray doesn't work at all. Doesn't make noise. Just doesn't read the disc. He called MS and they are sending him a new one. He tried the fix that was on YouTube and it actually worked, LOL! He is still sending it back though.

Maaaan......I have no luck sometimes...Just got my replacement Xbox One....but now the freaking fan makes a squeaking noise as it spins! Just called customer support and they said to send in my replacement after they receive the original. At this rate I should have a new X1 by the time Titanfall comes out:smash:
