The next Assassin’s Creed game is reportedly titled Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

According to details posted by YouTuber j0nathan, some of which were corroborated by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, the game will take the series “back to basics” when it releases next year.

Bloomberg first reported in February that Ubisoft was planning to release a smaller-scale, stealth-focused Assassin’s Creed game that is closer to the early series entries than the more recent RPG-influenced ones.

DAWN OF RAGNARÖK - DEEP DIVE TRAILER - ASSASSIN’S CREED VALHALLA

Starring Assassin’s Creed Valhalla character Basim, the title was originally planned as an expansion for the most recent series entry before being spun into a standalone game last year, it claimed.

Rift is reportedly set in the Middle East, including Baghdad, with development being led by Ubisoft’s Bordeaux studio.

Most recently Bloomberg reported that the game would be released in spring 2023.

The game is expected to be released before the officially announced Assassin’s Creed Infinity, which is a collaboration between Ubisoft Quebec (Odyssey) and Ubisoft Montreal (Origins and Valhalla).

While previous series entries have taken place in specific historical periods, Infinity will reportedly be a platform for future Assassin’s Creed games containing multiple settings that can be expanded over time.

Stealth missions have been the worst mechanics in the series (thank gods they stopped with the eavesdropping missions)... not feeling this tbh

Haha, this thread is delivering!

I’m hopeful, especially since I’m all the way done with the RPG stuff!!

hopefully we get an overhaul on the mechanics. If they just do a copy paste it'll be crap. They should be focusing very heavily on making the Open world more interesting. The OW burnout is real, especially for the Ubisoft formula.

Ooh, hopefully getting away from the Valhalla/origins style, and back to it's roots. It needs it's identity back

Oh joy. Prerendered cinematics that show nothing of the game itself. I do not care about that crap. I want to see the damn game. CG trailers do not hype me anymore. Show me the game.

Yes, at this point with how great games look in engine and even in gameplay (if played by someone who knows how to pan cameras so it looks good), I'm baffled as to why they keep putting time and energy into these trailers.

Delayed to 2024?

https://insider-gaming.com/assassins-creed-mirage-delayed/

On Twitter, a dataminer has stepped out with a claim that Assassin’s Creed Mirage (and The Crew: Project Orlando) is likely to be delayed and pushed back to 2024. There was also a mention in the Tweet that Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which is expected to be a return to form for the franchise, runs on an ‘old Assassin’s Creed engine’.

Insider Gaming sources understand that Assassin’s Creed Mirage gameplay will be revealed at this year’s E3 event, but it’s not known to what depth it will be revealed, especially if the alleged delay is a lengthy one.

On Twitter, user ScriptLeaksR6 stated that both Mirage and The Crew 3, otherwise known as Project Orlando, are likely delayed. This comes as a relatively huge blow to the Assassin’s Creed community especially, as Mirage is penned to be a return to the traditional formula that fans have been longing for for quite some time.

Until now, very little has been shown regarding Assassin’s Creed Mirage. In September 2022, Ubisoft pushed out the world premiere of the game, but since then, things have been a little quiet.

I hope not. The new AC was one of the few games I was looking forward to this year.
