Batman v Superman

i was at first resitant to the idae of Affleck as Batman, but now I think he will be fine
Warner Bros. is going to have to handle this "versus" theme very carefully if they don't want to paint themselves into a corner moving forward. Overpowering Batman could raise the stakes to implausible levels for future Batman projects and the risk of turning Superman into an unsympathetic character when audiences already have difficulty relating to him could jeopardize future Superman films.
I agree. its going to be hard to have the viewing public buy in to the concept of two vigilantes going at it.

Dope

Im not into comics so as an outsider to that world, imo the Batman character in general is stupid. Seriously, a guy dressed up in a Bat costume?

Fan reactions on Jamie Alexander as WW have been very positive. The problem is how writers will deal with Wonder Woman though... The recent New 52 series has been fantastic, but it is a straight-up modern day Greek mythology, so I'm not sure if that's the one the writers will pick up.

I didn't get the fuss over it to be honest? Not the first time he has killed someone.

I hope they know what they are doing. I'd love to see Man of Steel (Enter number): Doomsday. That would be the most epic battle on movie screen outside of the animated series.

I think you'll find that it's much easier than you think. It's not like people going to watch Batman vs Superman are expecting ultra realism. Hell, people loved the fight between the two in Dark Knight Returns.

Don't be a fool. If someone offers you $1 million for any job, you'd take a shot. Easily. ;)

If it was more money than he could make in other films, maybe, but as a director/actor I think he can pull in a fair salary from his usual work.
But who wouldn't want to be Batman?

I personal prefer Alexander to stay away from DC world and stick with Marvel world. I can't stand the fact that the same actor/actress playing 2 or 4 or even 50 different super heroes/villains. It turns me off for some reasons. It took me a while to get used to Chris Evan as Captain America when he first came out (now he's awesome!). There are billion of people out there. At least one million of good-looking strong ladies are well fit with Wonder Woman. Probably one hundred of them at least can act really well. But please not Alexander. She already played as Sif and I prefer her as Sif only.

Kevin Smith Praises Ben Affleck's Batsuit

“I saw the costume. More than that I saw a picture of him (Affleck) in the costume. Now, I don’t want to give anything away ’cause that is up to them and stuff, but I am going to say this I instantly bear hugged him (Snyder). You have not seen this costume in a movie on film before, and for a comic book fan it was mind bending. I was like ‘Get out of here, only you have enough power to pull this off.’ Because everyone always like does this Matrix/X-Men black armor…It was fantastic. I’m already a flag waver for this movie but the costume, it blew my mind. I think everyone is just gonna be like ‘Holy S**!’ It’s its own thing, man. It’s like we haven’t been down this path at all. I was so elated….Even the hardest core F*** all this person will be like ‘alright, I’m ready.'"

Hm, interesting. A little while ago, the company recently releases the artwork. Could this Blue/Gray suit be the one Ben will wear?

Thinking they gonna go with

Been wanting a Blue(orBlack)/Gray Batman in live action movies for a long time now. Definitely excited to see if it comes close to the general idea.

That'll be hella nice to see blue/gray costume! In comic, the blue/gray costume is the best one in my opinion. I do know for a fact that trying to copy the outfit from comic to movie is no easy task.

Bit off-topic: Superman (Man of Steel) Blu-Ray is coming out tomorrow (Tue)! Cannot wait!! I still haven't seen it in theater!

Just saw the film (Man of Steel) tonight for the first time. I think it's a very good solid movie. Felt like the things was going bit too fast at the beginning of the movie. I will need to re-watch it sometime this week. Oh, and the fighting part. Loved it! This is exactly what I want to see Superman fighting like that.

Agreed.

Warner Bros. learned their lesson about Superman films. He MUST fight in them & the threat has to be big enough so that he takes a beating before he wins of course.

I also picked up Man of Steel on Blu Ray. I think its great and looks awesome. Do not understand the hate it gets. As comic book movies go its done really well.

I liked the movie as well, and felt it was an earnest attempt to bring Superman to the post-Christopher Reeve era. However, I think if my only knowledge of Superman came from Man of Steel I would have liked it less. Having seen the old Superman films helped me fill out some of the heart missing in Man of Steel. Ironic for a reboot.

There isn't a whole lot of character building in the movie. We're expected to get into Clark's mind after a few brief scenes of him helping people or talking to his father, and then root for him as he beats up people for two hours. There aren't many scenes that put you in the shoes of the protagonist, nor are there many points where the audience is invested in his road to discovering who he is. Superman himself doesn't even get many lines.

The movie delivered on action big time, and we got some good scenes that wouldn't have been put into the Christopher Reeve films, but when the movie is over you feel more like you've watched Transformers 5 than you did a Superman movie.

That being said, I liked the movie a whole lot more the second time, knowing the big picture. I'm looking forward to my DVD arriving today.

I think they should have went more into when he was young and traveling. The flashbacks and present time of traveling was way too quick.

Problem is, if they delve too much into backstory then you get people complaining that "we already know his backstory" and "not enough action".
