Batman v Superman

Great to hear that! Affleck allegedly wants to direct the next solo Batman movie. He actually excels at directing. Honestly, he's a better director than Snyder is. I'd love to see a real noir detective batman movie from Affleck! This couldn't happen of course, if he didn't also own the part.

I was telling my friends a thriller/horror Seven type Batman film from Affleck would be amazing. Maybe Zsaz as the villain.
Well I'm off to take my daughter now to the IMAX 3D showing. Can't wait for Snyders Justice League.

Saw it this morning. I liked it overall. I think Henry Cavill is kinda boring as Superman. They need to do more with his Clark identity to give him depth. I thought Affleck was quite good as Batman. Gal looks like she will be pretty good. Eisenberg was terrible and I feel bad about it because I thought he would be good. But just totally out of place, really out of his element. And my last and maybe most important opinion (and it's just that) is that I don't think Snyder is a good fit for this genre. We have two movies from him now where the pacing is strange, janky, the cuts and edits are incongruous. Like you'll be in the middle of an important sequence of events and then he zooms in on a doorknob or some strange s*** like that. Like Eisenberg, I'm sure he is fine at his craft but he seems out of place in this genre.

Looking forward to a Batman movie with Affleck, I like what they established with him. Very physical, moody - I liked it.

Pacing felt awkward similar to Watchmen. It was good that origin stuff was skimmed over, but that saved time was squandered.

I think the cast was fine all around, but this movie was fumbled somewhere between the Editing and Script and partly the Marketing people and Producers. I'm not sure how much blame falls on Snyder.

This is not a Bad movie, I just think it fell short of it's potential and maybe tried to be an homage to to many things in DC Comics.

For what it's worth, this movie also has the burden of being the launchpad for other character films and that just gets crammed in. However, I hope both Ben Affleck and Jeremy Irons return for a stand alone Batman film.

Already done $100M.

Got to wait till next week till I can see it.

Looks like the audiences are loving it, only character I didn't like was Lex Luther as thought he was trying too hard to be like Heath Legders joker.

Yep lots of applause at the sold out screening from yesterday. I agree the only miscasting was Luthor, they should have went with Cranston.

My theater was tepid, it was weirdly quiet. WOM won't be good, that 2nd weekend drop will be enormous.

Good to see ya posting monk!

I watched the movie last night and it was good. You know how?

My family loved it and that is what matters most.

All to the side, it was really good.

Glad I decided to ignore the critics again.

The first hour was practically all plot and was certainly the weakest part of the movie, but the last 90 minutes made up for it.

Great action!

Ben Affleck made a great Batman. He proved me wrong.

The movie has many problems but I'm glad it's a success. It's after all an ideapad of upcoming DC movies, and I'd like to see how individual WW, Suicide Squad, or Batman movies would fare.

Yeah that's very true. I think it's a burden for film to be the planned launchpad for several films. In a way, I think this movie was forced into being partly a commercial or trailer.

I think Marvel did things the other way introducing main characters like Iron Man, Captain America, and THOR before the Avengers rather than in the Avengers.

And yet since IM2 most Marvel films feel like trailers for the next avengers film.

I do feel we should have had a stand alone Batman and MoS 2 before this

It's hard for me to say, because I still haven't seen any Captain America movies. The THOR movies are inevitably tie-ins though because they involve Loki though.

And actually I like that. It means JL movies will always be a mess, but at least the individual character films don't have to be JL trailers. I can totally see a Batman film that is solely about catching the Riddler and does not mention Darkseid or Wonder Woman at all.

Saw it yesterday and I'll probably expand upon it later, but I loved the movie. It's a bit rushed at the end, but I only feel that way because of how a major villain was introduced. Otherwise I actually found the story to be rather balanced in pace and engaging with it's narrative. The lighting and musical score also really impressed me, along with all the performances. I left completely satisfied and excited about the future DC films.

Even V for Vendetta was DC, so it's gradually happening and I hope they pull more things from DC VERTIGO titles.
