I'm hoping some of you may have their hands on their console and Battlefield 4 yet. I'm particularly interested in the state of Multiplayer. Does it work - or is it broken like all the other platforms?

I'm asking for my own selfish purposes. If it's all screwed up, I'll hold off on downloading it day one, and go with some other games instead.

It's broken on both consoles. Conquest doesn't work and you get disconnected in nearly every match. Oh yeah, don't start SP because it won't save. It's pretty much a failure at this point.

Also true of the PC version, last time I checked.

Sounds like EA/Dice are really on the ball with this one.

Uh... the One version as well?

So not even dedicated servers means it will work flawlessly?
You mean EAs dedicated servers???.....HAHAHHA....they have always had huge issues at the launch of a game. I didn't even know this and now I'm not surprised at all. F*cking EA. After that Sim City debacle, you'd think they would learn. Oh and I pre-ordered BF4 like a dumbass as well. :p

Ah right right, i forgot about that. Cause i actually meant Microsoft's dedicated servers, being that X1 has them for all online games.

Yup, they have them but doesn't mean devs are using them. EA will likely never use them. I'm curious as to whether Ghosts will use them or not. I'm hoping the stuff they said about dedicated servers at the Gamescom event was about Microsoft servers and not this half-a$$ed sh*t they have going on for other platforms. The only damn reason I bought the game.

There's Twitch streams up, been watching one for over an hour. Search "Battlefield 4 On Xbox One." He was playing large Conquest for 3 maps in a row, took a break. He's from Australia. Servers were at least 24 vs. 24 from what I counted. 16 on the screen, plus the scroll bar that was at least 8 people. No crashes so far on 3-4 maps. He even loaded Hainan Resort on the first try, a notorious load crash on Xbox 360.

EDIT: Here, found it:

Just opened up my BF4 XBO case....was excited to use the kinect to input the DLC code.
Of course, it is a 25 digit code...So much for easier input of DLC codes right off the bat!

yes they are using them for ghost. Activision announced this during the ghost reveal. I will also report on this in about two hours because I will be headed to gamestop to pick up my Xbox one and my sons Xbox one. #feelinglikeakidagain

Well to be accurate, they said "Ghosts is using dedicated servers" not "Ghosts is using Microsoft provided Azure servers". I believe mark Rubin later tweeted that ALL other platforms would use a hybrid dedicated/peer hosted system. So, still not sure if Ghosts on X1 uses that method or MS servers. Besides having likely better performance and no host migration bullsh*t, it will be transparent to you. Guess we'll see.

Yes he did state that it's using their Azure serves and all other platforms will use a hybrid. I am installing ghost for xbox one as I type this. So I will be able to confirm soon.

Ok cool....cant wait to get Ghosts and BF4. Any more word on how BF4 is running on X1?

Who knows, they've been so sketchy with their wording & exactly whose servers they are using as far as that Ghosts stuff. They are definitely using dedicated servers for Xbox One & PC, but there's never been an exact clear definition of what is going on with each platform & what playlists or whose servers they are.
