Battlefield 4 running on X1 ... and PS4

Ummm...the X1 build at E3 looked better than that. Some shadow popping. They had some issues with bugged visual fx too, like fire, smoke, and ocean spray.

Would like a direct feed version. I thought this demo was running at more than 3k res though? Not a huge fan of the ocean water tbh. Physics are great but it looks too silvery to me. Now Watch_Dogs...that game has some nice looking water.

Bf3 looked like poop when they showcased at E3 and what not. The final product on consoles looked better than anyone expected.

That's because you're a troll for Sony... :p

Would have been nice to see some footage of it :)

From the comment section:

Just so you know. This was 2 separate matches each with 32 players. One side conquest and one side playing obliteration game type. So not 64 players in the same game.

Solid 60 frames per second. No idea about resolution. Textures were ok nothing to get excited about. Should be a great experience on console though.

I just going to leave this here...yikes!

Xbox One Retail Version of Battlefield 4 Will Still Run at 720p, 60 FPS, EA Representative Confirms

http://www.dualshockers.com/2013/09...un-at-720p-60-fps-ea-representative-confirms/

Both the Xbox One and PS4 version of Battlefield 4 were demonstrated running at 720p resolution and 60 FPS, but as confirmed by Frostbite Technical Director Johan Andersson on Twitter, it runs at a higher resolution in the PS4 developer environment and the final resolution will be apparent when the game will launch.

Pfffttttt...dualshockers

Yeah lets trust a site that has the name dualshockers in their website address. Plus they said Ryse looked better before polycount like above poster said... Dualshockers... Dualshock controller = sony fanboys?

The technical director at Dice said is a lie...

So false, the technical director at Dice said so...

Funny how the Japan gaming media seems to be getting all the negative inside scoops of the XB1.

Why do people keep quote "Dualshockers" as a source for xbox news? Haven't nearly all their talk of "downgrades" and the like been pretty much proven false? Was in the Gaf thread about this seeing all of the celebrating and pointing and laughing, then once it was said that both versions may be running at 720p, it turned to "MS is paying for parity". What a f***ing circus.

Microsoft is money hatting for downgraded PS4 versions of the game.

The original article by Game*Spark was updated with the following: After the review of the product during a Q&A session with the personnel at the DICE booth, we learned that the developer aims to have the same frame rate and resolution for the Xbox One and PS4 version. We modified the contents of the article to match. The final specifications are unknown until it will be officially published by EA DICE.

The amount of,what seems to be intentional, misinformation on this gen platforms is amazing. Makes it feel like we are voting for a new senator with all the lies thrown about.

Well good to hear it might be a fake as would love to play BF4 with solid 60 FPS on my shiny X1 :d

the other thing I keep seeing is. "if first party can do 1080 then so can ea/dice" I've yet to see a single game on either system doing multiplayer maps as big as bf4. 64player, 60fps, and fast travel (vehicles)...and what is this obsession with resolution. The HD remakes were higher resolution than games like cod but cod looked better. Graphical fidelity > resolution.

If you check the article, most of it has been crossed out now. Dualshockers took it from a different site, and that site has updated the info to make the majority of their article moot.

Regardless, I don't really care what resolution the game is at, as long as the 64 players / 60fps holds true. When the game has far better effects and settings running than our present gen console versions, and can more than double the performance in players and frame rate, I don't really care at all if the resolution is being upscaled. BF3 still looks great on present gen consoles, and that's with sub-720 resolution, and low settings and performance. Just think of what a difference there will be comparing to the next gen versions.

Exactly.

...and when the UI is at 1080p so it looks sharp and crisp, and you've got solid AA effects in place, the resolution becomes far less important. Stable frame rates and genuine leaps in lighting, textures, poly counts, etc. is of greater value to me than raw resolution.

I'll take a gorgeous BF4 at 720p over a 4k Minecraft.

as I said long as the game have a high artistically level and the framerate is something I dont care as long as the game is amazing.

I am so done with (NO EXCUSE 1080P 60pfs) crap.

Minecraft is by no means in the same realm as Ryse but because the game have a solid framerate, that made the game playable and it was far more fun then a lot of other titles.

Yeah, I don't think anyone's going to be complaining about resolution in most any of these games when they see the massive improvements in textures, effects, performance, anti-aliasing, etc.
