Nintendo has announced that Bayonetta 2, Platinum Games' upcoming Wii U-exclusive action title, will be launching on October 24th.

In case fans didn't already know, the original Bayonetta will be included with the sequel as well, providing the ultimate action-heavy experience for Nintendo gamers this fall.

I hope the game sells well. It would be a shame for Platinum to have to shelf this Ip.

Any Bayonetta 2-impressions from the demo which is available on Eshop?
I just finished it. I liked it, but it was short. Although it was on the GamePad and my gf kept interrupting me with facebook vines. Once I can finish it on the big screen with no interruptions I'll give a better impressions. But right off the bat, I will say it was pretty outrageous. Fighting enemies atop a fighter jet that's weaving around skyscrapers was cool.

UPDATE: Okay, finally got some more quality time in. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's fast, smooth, challenging, bloody, and sexy. Now, I never got into the first Bayonetta so I can't really compare. So my closest comparison is Devil May Cry. You fight enemies using different melee attacks including firearms in stylistic combos which earn you scores and rankings throughout each level. Combos were easy to pull off, and the camera never became a problem even when surrounded by multiple enemies. The game is certainly good looking. High definition hilighted beautiful and colorful environments even when I was beating off (LOL) three centaurs atop speeding fighter jet spinning out of control. Animations and combat were smooth and fluid, and I especially loved those Torture moves. I wanted to admire the fast moving backgrounds but my attention didn't last long on them when I was trying to keep a flawless victory in combat.

I just wish the demo was longer, it only lasted about 15 minutes and felt it ended way too soon. I hope there's a progression system in place for the final game.

First game was good so I'll have to check out the demo. I'll buy the game eventually but not sure about right at launch.

Tried out the demo and really enjoyed it. Been a while since I've played a game like this. Still undecided if I'll get it right away. I'll be getting Evil Within this week so not sure I'd get to Bayonetta right away, but I'd also like to get it right away to support the developer for bringing a sequel.

I played the demo tonight with my wife and we were both thoroughly impressed. All I can say is WOW! The graphics really pop and it is another game type that I had forgotten how much I miss.
The Wii u has surprised me this year, I have all three current Gen systems and I didn't think it would be the Ps4 collecting dust this fall.

Destructoid gave it 10/10 as well

Game informer and Eurogamer gave it 9/10

Wasnt even on my radar, but now Ill probably pick it up.

Ill get it on Xbox One ;)

But seriously the U is starting to get some great exclusives.

Picked it up today. It is pure gaming bliss. It reminds me of how I hate where the industry is going. Though I love first person shooters I wish that there was a more equal ratio of the types of games that come out. We need more action games like this! What a great fall for the Wii U!

Really? I feel like third person action games like this are more common than given credit for. Maybe you mean the high quality, but it's arguably mirroring the release. I mean, Bayonetta 2, Legend of Korra, Escape Dead Island (turned into a 3rd Person Action Game), Ryse, Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, Knack, Amazing Spider-Man 2, Dead Rising 3, Warriors Orichi 3 Ultimate, Dynasty Warriors 8: Extreme Legends, and Hyrule Warriors have release since November of last year. That's ignoring Action-RPG hybrids like Shadow of Mordor or Lords of the Fallen, among others, since they typically identify more as RPGs.

I mean, what are the FPS games that have released since the new consoles came out last year? Killzone, CoD: Ghost & AW, Titanfall, Wolfenstein, Far Cry 4, MCC, Battlefield 4, Metro Redux, and Shadow Warrior come to mind. Ignoring other first person games that might be considered more RPG or survival horror than shooter.

I'd argue that while there's a trade-off, the third person action genre hasn't really suffered as much as you say. I mean, the PS3/360 gen saw some amazing action games in my opinion. Now 3D platformers, those have taken a huge hit for sure.

I need to f'ing play this but been so busy with school.

Have bought it, but need to finish some games first before I play it.
