CVS says goodbye to cigarettes and other tobacco products!

All of the CVS stores in my area (there are quite a few within a few miles of my house) have pretty much all of the wall space behind the cash registers devoted to tobacco products. It'll be interesting to see if this becomes a trend with other drug store chains.

Cigs are a joke. Waste of health, waste of money. Nobody wants to smell that sh!t. I could go on. I'd kill to see the day that they're gone and all the weak people who smoke have breakdowns.
I have no issue with smoker, but I do hate it when they smoked in crowded places, & near children, even their own.

I'm a smoker but I NEVER EVER take my smokes with me when I go out in public. The reasons are twofold:

1. I burn fewer smokes because I'm not lighting one on the way into a store or something then tossing it less than half smoked.
2. It's rude to smoke around other people. Adults I don't care so much about but kids I do.

It's a good thing my lungs can't handle tobacco smoke. I'd be smoking cloud storms of cigs into the faces of children until they got cancer. Would be the biggest douche smoker of all time. My reign could've been legendary. Instead I got these weak ass lungs.:(:txbmad:

I never smoke in public places or even if I am with a non-smoker. It's a matter of respect.

But personally i think my body is starting to reject it somehow. After a few years of smoking the same kind of cigarettes i am just now getting disgusted by the smell and the taste of it. It doesn't even do anything for me anymore. I dunno, maybe it's psychological? Either way i think I'll quit very soon while my lungs are still red.

I always wonder how smokers feel when they think about what their habit is most likely going to end up doing to them. Do they just not care?

I know smoking is going to kill me, I've no illusions about that.

On the other hand I could be killed tomorrow driving or walking down the street. I could be shot dead because someone doesn't like the cut of my jib. I could die in a house fire, I could slip and break my neck, I die any number of ways.

I enjoy smoking. I enjoy the taste of it, I enjoy the act of it and I enjoy how it settles my nerves when I'm on edge (which is funny considering that nicotine is a stimulant). So why stop doing something I enjoy because it'll kill me some day? If I were to do that then I should also quit drinking soda and eating candy (diabetes runs strong in my family), I should stop eating red meat, eggs, butter and any number of things that can lead to heart disease.

As far back as I can remember I've been of the opinion that if I have a choice between enjoying a short life or living a long, boring and miserable life I'll choose the short enjoyable one.

I get what you're saying. You're wrong about eggs though.

You don't care about Adults? And why is that, if you don't mind me asking? You know, there are plenty of nice adult people out there, right?

I'm not as concerned about smoking around adults as children because if they're adult and don't smoke my smoking won't make them think it's a "cool" or "okay" thing to do, kids are much more impressionable. It's also not nearly as damaging to adults as children (adults are done growing).

I hereby BOYCOTT cvs. They sell alcohol but not tobacco...mmmmk
As far as smoking in public I do, but when kids are around I go out of my way to smoke away from them. If I see a kid I'll move, even if I'm by my car in a parking lot.
Its just common courtesy. It amazes me that all this anti tobacco stuff goes on, yet alcohol is advertised just about anywhere.
Can I go to a nice restaurant without seeing Liquor, smelling Alcohol.
