Destiny impressions thread.

Trying to judge whether or not to get this game. So far from what I am hearing it is nothing special in terms of fun or game play. What says The Union?
 
I'm really finding it odd with the lack of reviews, I've never seen a situation on the day after with all the "reviews in progress"

usually they are up by 3am, but I can't ever remember this many reviews on hold, maybe its coincidence.

As Bungie has stated, they sent out review copies, but didn't make the servers live until yesterday, so reviews can't even START being written until yesterday since they didn't have the game.

I'm not french so yeah I've never heard of them. I'll wait on more reviews, could be click bait, I'm expecting 8s
 
I'll be playing it a lot tonight and over the next week. I'll write some impressions once I've a good feel for it.
 
Enjoyed the first mission. Two questions:

1. Where do you get your preorder bonuses?
2. Did anyone else not receive the emblems or shaders they unlocked via codes?
 
I only had like 10 minutes of playtime before I had to leave for my first call at work this am. definitely noticed a graphic improvement on Xbox one from the beta.

I got them. You have to retrieve them from the Postmaster.

As far as my impressions are concerned, I played through the first five missions. Unfortunately, I didn't finish the fifth mission because I was disconnected right at the end while I was fighting the "boss". The gameplay is tight and everything gives off a sense of overall polish. While I played co-op during the beta, last night I played through the missions solo on hard, so there was a bit of a challenge, but nothing to extreme. In my opinion, the world is beautiful to look at and quite fun to play in.
 
Yeah seems like website reviews would be severely lacking at this point. Just not enough time.
 
It's MMO, if you followed WOW or other MMO's on PC. Reviews are always 1 week or more after release.

waiting for it in the mail it shipped yesterday should get it thursday though_ rented from gamefly.
 
Did not stay up last night but got about 45 minutes in this morning before work. Nice to be able to just fire up the game. Oh man going from the 360 beta to the XB1 retail game was a purdyyyy upgrade. Loving this game. Changed my controls to COLD SHOULDER since that is what COD and Titanfall use. Makes it easier for me. Love stabbing guys with the Hunter blade.
 
This game is getting absolutely blasted. I think I'm going to skip it now. Now it feels like Bungle and Activision pulled the shady tactic of hiding their disappointing game from people by forcing a false embargo on reviews. The hype on this is hours away from dying.

First Evolve gets delayed and now this?! Q4 what have you done to us!
 
Really enjoying it so far. This is one of those games where you get out what you put in. It certainly gets better the further in you go.

I'm not really sure how they were hiding it. Everyone got to play the Beta. Hard to hide stuff when you let that many people play that big of a chunk of the game. If you didn't like the beta, don't expect to like the full game.

Me, I loved the beta and can't wait to get home and play tonight
 
Yeah where is the game getting blast at? User scores on metacritic? lolz. Who knows who those are, could be mad PC gamers

My guess honestly is it's probably Xbox fanboys who will blast the game. Even though the game is not exclusive to PS4, the die hards will see this as a PS4 game.

I have been labeled an Xbox fanboy, even though I enjoy my PS....and I still feel this is an Xbox game because it's Bungie. I think I would feel the Sunset Overdrive was a PS game if it was multiplat because the developers were primarily making games for the PS before.

It's a mental thing, and I am mental.
 
Been playing since 3:01am last night. Went ahead and got 3 characters to the Tower. Got my Warlock to lvl 4. Started playing with my little brother around 5:30am, Ive been using my Hunter. Im lvl 11 with him.

Ive noticed that they upped the difficulty a little, and slowed the leveling a bit. The Earth Strike mission has been tweeked. I noticed that the Devil Walker has a new gun, better a.I., and faster turning speed. The boss Servitor in the Earth Strike has better a.I., and teleports noticeably quicker. Ive been playing the game for nearly 12 hours, and haven't had a public event happen yet.

For you guys wondering about the Vanguard Armory pre-order items, you have to visit the Vanguard Quartermaster. Hes up the stairs from the Shipwright.

I have Venus unlocked, but still have a Story mission, and a Strike mission on the Moon left to go. My opinion as far as a review score is still too early to make. I am enjoying myself though.

The game is good, but isn't grabbing me just yet. Having just gotten the One, I'm switching between several games.
 
I noticed headshots were dropped from 1032xp to like 800 something xp.
