Hey guys :)
Got a couple questions re DD next gen on XB1
I really wanna download all next gen titles but a couple things have been bugging me & wondered if anyone here knew the answers!

- What size are titles like Ryse going to be? Saw a post that it's a lot of GB in size!!

- Will titles be available same day as hard copy releases & will the price be the same?

- could my son play titles on my Xbox if he signs in with his XBL account?

Cheers for any into :)

Sadly DD titles are going to be the same price. Which is total bs imo, especially considering you can trade in disc based games and get money back. I'm sure tons of people don't care and will make excuses for it, but it's still silly.

Same price is fine! Just at this moment in time, GTAV from my local tesco store is £37 but if I bought this via games on demand, it's £49????

Don't mind if DD titles are same price as hard copy, but when they are more expensive, that's when it takes the p**s!!

I remember reading that MS is still working on a digital trade in system, so who knows. Can't find the article right now but it was post-180.

If devs really want people to go DD, then they need to give people some incentive for doing so.

I mean, yeah, discless gaming. But I'm going to run out of space fast from the looks of it. And I'd rather install from discs than keep downloading from the cloud with my incredibly slow internet connection.

To answer some of your other questions around 30 gigs installed seem to be the average size for next gen only titles.

Every title will be available the same day as the physical disc at the same price.

Anyone on your "primary" Xbox One will be able to play any game you buy digitally. In the same way that everyone using that console will be a gold member if you sign up for live.

Yeah that's the problem with this stuff. At stores the price drops a lot quicker than on MS's store.

Wish I would have considered download sizes before pledging to "go 100% digital" next-gen. :(

I have a feeling those large install sizes will shrink as the devs get a better handle on things, just a guess. I'm going all DD except with the first game I get (COD:G), I don't want to sit their on day one waiting for it to download. I have a feeling to play MP all of that will need to be on the hard drive, SP I think not so much.

My main question about digital on x1 is whether or not there is preloading like with steam. If I can preload my games a few days in advance, rather than waiting 8 hours on release day to download 45gbs, then ill be going digital.

Im not worried about hdd size considering I can plug in a 3.0usb 2tb hdd later on. But I will say that we should only expect these sizes to get bigger, not smaller. Look at 360. Launch cobsoles came with 20gb hdd. That was fine at launch but loom what happened with later games like bf3. 20gbs wasnt enough for bf3 alone. Expect some nextgen games to reach over 100gb of date. Honestly im fine with that. That just means a s*** load of content. I cant even phathom what mass effect 4 is going to be like. I bet it will be atleasy 70gb

I don't think it's been confirmed, but I hope preloading is part of the equation. Isn't it done of PS3 already? I would love to be able to play a new game at midnight on launch, or at least have it ready first thing in the morning.

Wish I could go DD but i'm on a 250GB cap. I'm also afraid of MS doing a reversal in the future and I have to be online. Also the prices not being cheaper really kills it, so i'll just stick with blu ray copies and get a case and manuel to read while on the toilet.

I am going to add an external HDD to my X1, hopefully I will use a 3TB one. We are waiting to hear back from MS on the max size they support.

250 gig/month? And you're worried? I have 150 gig/month and am only a bit worried. First month could be a killer, but after that I can't imagine buying more than 1 game per month.

I hope they keep it high, or at least have the ability to increase it later. Is there any benefit to having a low cap? And with all the content they want us to buy, games and otherwise, having a low cap seems counter-productive.

I understood why they did it this gen, to sell us bigger 1st party hdd's. Now that they're out of that game, giving us lots of room for our dlc would be the wise move.

Respectfully disagree, BF3 was an anomaly (awful example), but I could be wrong.. Skyrim Was under 4gb.

yes...I've been going over my cap for the last 3 months. Between me, wife, and our child we watch a lot of Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. Also add in my downloading of files and youtube videos I watch. All that is between a Apple TV, 2 iphones, ipad, PC and Xbox 360. The wife has been bitching about spending extra $20 because we keep going over the cap. I lay the blame on my daughter. I actually plan to cap my data speeds through my router some time this week because I'm getting sick of it also.

Although the downloads are huge, you don't have to wait for the download to finish before you start playing. Also you don't have to worry about filling the drive as the Xbox One will house keep by removing games you don't play anymore.

Not sure about the X1, but the PS4 requires 7.5gigs downloaded before you can play while downloading.

I imagine there has to be some kind of minimum on the X1 too, though I haven't heard anything about it.
