Responding to voice commands are one of Kinect's most prominent features, and with the X1, the list of commands has grown tremendously.

I've become accustomed to using voice commands using my iPhone (it actually works better on Windows Phone, to be honest), and I use voice commands on the 360, especially during my Nike+ Kinect workouts.

It would be awesome to have a new Rocksmith game where I don't have to grab my controller to navigate through the game, and I can simply use Kinect voice commands to do it.

What do you think about voice commands?

Love them now that Kinect has matured. I use it often to dictate texts and emails on my iPhone and iPad but that's speech recognition.

I love voice commands... i can see me walking into my game room, saying "xbox ON" and having it boot while i put my beer down and get ready to play

If you have to put your beer down, you're doing it wrong. :bang:

Yes, voice commands are the future. Especially when it comes to dictation and navigation in many tech devices.

i dont use voice commands and not sure how I will like it on this, well see soon i guess

I like speech recognition software, but I don't have any interest in using voice commands to control my appliances. Buttons are fine.

Right now I hate them, though that is only because no device gets it right and I end up yelling and wasting time (see SIRI). I hear Kinect 2 is much improved in this regard, but still suffers from some of the same pitfalls. I don't know, if MS can get this box to talk to my DVR and fine tune it a bit, I might give it a go.

I use them on the 360 but generally just for bing search. With X1, I'll use it where it makes the most sense. There are a plethora of options for me...harmony remote, smartglass, voice, controller. I usually don't have the controller near me when not gaming (in drawer) and if voice works well (and I really hope it does and gets better over time), I'll lean towards using that.

Agreed. I think the benefit of this whole 'Xbox On' and other stuff is being over exaggerated. I need my controller anyways to play games, start-up time for the system is relatively short, and I rarely, if ever, lose my controller anyways. It's just not worth $100 to me.

I also plan on using my console for games 95% of the time and maybe HBO Go or some other app the other 5%. None of the games I plan on playing even utilize the Kinect in any meaningful way to me and I don't have ADHD like the people in the Xbox Kinect advertisements seem to.

I'm also always on or have my phone/computer nearby when I'm playing games, so I'd rather just pause the game and use that instead of using the Xbox snap feature and surfing the web via voice commands on the god awful Internet Explorer.

Also, according to several sources, the Xbox voice recognition doesn't work really well with the TV yet.

Overall, I still don't really see any major advantage to using voice commands, it feels like I'd just be forcing myself to use it if I did.
