Does a Receiver make a big difference in sound quality?

Yeah, one of those would do. Orrrrrrrrrrrr you could start saving. For $1500 you could get a pretty good entry system for you to upgrade over time

Yeah. I was thinking of just keeping my Spherex 5.1's for now since they work fine and if I get a new system, I wouldn't know where to put them. I'll probably re-visit this topic in the future! Thanks everyone for the posts though, Very informative and helpful.
