dvd playback issues?

I just watched a DVD for the first time today on the Xbox one and there was about a second delay with the sound, the words not matching the lips and every other sound not matching what was on screen was pretty annoying.

anyone else have this issue and is there anything I can do to fix this? I don't think it was the DVD, this is my second time watching this movie and I don't remember this happening before.

I haven't had an issue myself (watched about 5 or so DVDs and a few Blu-rays). I recall a thread right around launch where somebody had the same issue. May be worth searching for. Might want to "hard" power off the X1 and wait 30 secs or so before power on just to see if that might fix it.

I have lip syncing issues all the time with my Xbox 360 movies (digital movies or on disk), and sometimes even my DirecTV has the issue (but if I channel up, then channel back down it syncs them again..for a bit). I am running a 60 inch Vizio LED with a Sony Sound bar. I will check to see if it's an issue on my Xbox One as well.

I would say that has to be something with your setup. I never had lip sync issues on 360 (I've owned 4) and I've done everything from download various vids to stream via MCE and converted tons of DVDs to MP4 for playback and watch recorded HD on TV with zero issues. Guess what I'm saying is that the 360 software generally is solid in that respect. The X1 seems to have some software issues in many aspects so the issue some are seeing could be software related. I would look at outputting 360 directly to your TV as a test to make sure the delay isn't with the soundbar side.

I have it with my TV from time to time.

I might have to try that and start narrowing down the problem. It could very well be the sound bar. The sound bar has a lip sync setting to enable/disable, but it doesn't fix the problem.

I use a vizio sound bar with a Sony sub but I use the tv volume as well cause the soundbar for the actual voices is a little low, I wish there was a way to make words on the sounbar louder cause other then that it sounds good.

I guess I'll wait and see if it does this again next time I watch a movie, I don't understand why it would do this or how I could even fix it
