I had heard very little of what happened in Ferguson until the riots started yesterday. It's gotten pretty bad down there. For those that don't know, a young black man was shot. He was unarmed when it happened. What lead to the shooting is up to who you believe. Police say he was trying to take an officers gun and ran. Witnesses say there was a struggle but he didn't try to take a gun and was shot when he put his hands up. It's all over the place now. Anyway, I found a video that I liked about the riots that are happening in response especially with activists.

Videos of the chaos. NSFW language.

I have no sympathy for the looters. I do side with the protesters though. They should be able to assemble and protest.

From what I've read online the Teen was killed 35 feet away from the squad car where the officer initially fired and according to witnesses between 3 to 8 shots were fired.
It sounds like there was a scuffle between the teen and the officer but the teen was unarmed when he was killed.

The officer initiated contact because Michael Brown (Victim) and his friend Dorian Brown were walking in the street and not on the sidewalk.

protesting is one thing... I have no respect for those that want to loot and destroy their own neighborhoods. Just trying to get some free s***.

Right, this isn't protesting.

Ex-f*cking-actly!

Bums will be bums and will look for any opportunity to take from the next guy. This is a perfect opportunity for them because if anyone asks, "Oh they shot a black guy so we are doing this to teach them not to mess with us"...

The store owners in those neighborhoods have nothing to do with what's been going on. They are just trying to get by with the business.

Lots of crazy stuff happening over there. Not sure what to believe but I live by the age old wisdom of rioting usually being done by a bunch of c***s who want free stuff and hurting fellow citizens in the process.

What I never understood is why would you would be pissed at the police and:
1. Blame it on racism
2. Start a riot and rob very f***ing store to prove those pigs wrong for their discrimination!
3. Give cops an attitude and antagonize.
4. Insert other excuse for acting a fool.

It's all because backwards logic/self-fulfilling prophecy.

At the very least the cop could be charged with manslaughter, at the worst second degree murder. Reports are that Brown, and the officer got into a struggle. Allegedly, Brown forced the officer into his cruiser, during the struggle they fought over the officers gun, and at least one gunshot was fired inside the cruiser. Apparently, the officer was able to keep hold of his gun. He then pointed the gun at Brown, at which time Brown had his hands up(backed by several witnesses). Then the officer opened fire killing Brown. You would think a cop, of almost all people, would know not to shoot someone when they are giving up. At the same time, a struggle for a gun is an adrenaline filled few seconds. It would be hard for anyone, black, white, red, hell pick a color, to think straight in a similar situation.

Im not naïve enough to believe that racism doesn't exist anymore. This is not the 50's though, our country is miles away from that era regarding racism. I don't believe race had anything to do with this situation, let alone Mr. Browns death. And I certainly don't believe the cop just stopped his car, got out, and shot Mr.Brown. Imo, this has gotten blown way out of proportion concerning race.

I don't know about everywhere else, but here its not uncommon for cops to get rough with people that challenge them. I saw a white cop mace about 20 white people, and crack a white guy over the head with a mag light knocking him slap out, when a big brawl broke out in the parking lot of a local night club. Three white cops drug a friend of mine, whose white, through a barbed wire fence when he tried to run from them. While I was in jail, I saw white COs rough up several white inmates that challenged them. The point is that all cops are trained to respond with overwhelming force when challenged.

Of course Im not saying that it should be ok for a cop to shoot, and kill an unarmed civilian. But if Mr. Brown tried to get physical with this cop, and was trying to take his gun, the outcome was going to be bad for somebody. Now if there was any pause between the moment the cop gained control of his gun, while Mr. Brown had his hands up surrendering, then yes there should certainly be charges brought against the cop. That would mean he had time to stop and think.

I agree with the protesters regarding the transparency that law officials should have had from the start. The first thing that should have happened is investigators should have been finding, and questioning witnesses, and it should have happened that day. With both sides only getting one side of the story, there is a lack of understanding about what truly happened. Seeing that there was civil unrest, it shouldn't have been an issue for law officials to make a statement regarding this case to the public. It might have prevented all the violence, and mistrust.

This article gives a different story than the reports I had read days earlier.

"The police version of how Brown was shot differs from witness accounts, including that of the friend who was walking with Brown at the time, Dorian Johnson, 22.
Police say that after Wilson asked Brown to move out of the road onto a sidewalk, Brown reached into the patrol car and struggled with Wilson for the officer's service gun. Wilson, who sustained a facial injury, then shot Brown a number of times."

"Johnson and at least one other witness have said the officer reached out through his car window to grab at Brown and the teenager was trying to get away from the officer when he was shot. Brown held up his hands in a sign of surrender but the officer got out of his patrol car and shot Brown several times, they said."

If this article is accurate, then I believe the officer should be charged. Even if the story by police is true, the officer had options besides deadly force.

I agree for sure. Hopefully the don't go too high with the charge though because that's how Zimmerman got off from his crimes. I think you said best yourself, any persecution against him should go for manslaughter or second degree.

The guy in the video speaks the truth. Two wrongs will never make a right. The thing is, half those people rioting and looting the stores don't even care about the guy who got shot. They're just using it as an excuse to act stupid.

I have a lot more respect for the guy in the video than I do for Obama and I voted for Obama; twice.

As someone that lives in St Louis, I can tell you first hand, it's blown out of proportion by people using the race card.

One of the bullets entered the top of Mr. Brown’s skull, suggesting his head was bent forward when it struck him and caused a fatal injury, according to Dr. Michael M. Baden, the former chief medical examiner for the City of New York, who flew to Missouri on Sunday at the family’s request to conduct the separate autopsy. It was likely the last of bullets to hit him, he said.

“This one here looks like his head was bent downward,” he said, indicating the wound at the very top of Mr. Brown’s head. “It can be because he’s giving up, or because he’s charging forward at the officer.”

Dr. Baden said that because of the tremendous attention to the case, he waived his $10,000 fee.

Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. said Sunday that the Justice Department would conduct its own autopsy, in addition to the one performed by local officials and this private one because, a department spokesman said, of “the extraordinary circumstances involved in this case and at the request of the Brown family.”

Dr. Baden said it was unusual for the federal government to conduct a third autopsy, but dueling examinations often occur when there is so much distrust of the authorities. The county of St. Louis has conducted an autopsy, and the results have not yet been released.

Not sure I agree with all the points made, but he makes a good point of how much death there is in the country. Although, it simply goes back to one story simply catching on. Want to know why not all tragedies are covered? It's because there's so many of them. You're given quite the gamut of responsibility when you have so much stuff going on in Iraq, Syria, Gaza/Israel, Africa, Mexico, Russia, and here in the U.S. As bad as it may seem, sometimes bad situations need to weighed from bad to worst. Not to let anybody off the hook entirely, but if I were in Obama's shoes, this is a situation I'd allow to be handled by a Governor and wait to see the results before preemptively choosing a side. That's something that can bite anybody in the butt.

Sad sad day when frigging GANGBANGERS have to stop people from looting.

More and more witness accounts are starting to roll in about the shooting that corroborate the cops story, so sadly this might get worse before it gets better. The media narrative has perpetuated this riot and even with evidence coming forth that the cops story is accurate, still CNN and others are not reporting on that.

Some brave soul just needs to drive down the middle of town in an ice cream truck. You know, to boost morale. Cheer people up. Ice cream is the greatest equalizer.
