Finished the game this morning. My app says I played 35 hours. My only complaints are the way they do the black loading screens too often (or the cut away), and they way they freeze an end of a scene that makes me think the console froze (but it didn't really freeze the console). My other complaint is that it's not on Xbox (it should be), but the reason I mention Xbox is that I much prefer the Xbox controller.

The game gets a 9.5/10 from me, and I would say it's in my top 5 of all time favorite games. It's the second Final Fantasy game I have ever played (besides FF7 Remake), and the only Final Fantasy game I finished (I am still stuck on the last boss in FF7 Remake).

I am kinda bummed that Clive and Joshua died at the end. I would have loved a FF16.2

Are there any Final Fantasy games that played JUST like FF16?

You just made me want to play this, thanks for adding to my backlog.

It makes me want to go back and check out other Final Fantasy games now. Granted, I have FF7 Remake. And I know the way you play in 16 is different than previous ones. I just connected with this one for some reason. I have heard that if I liked FF16, I should go back and get Witcher 3 out of my back log. Another website says to check out Asura's Wrath? Never heard of that.

Witcher 3 is awesome, and the next gen update looks great. I need to finish that one too, definitely one of those games where you can waste dozens of hours doing side quests & activities that have nothing to do with the main story.

No mainline FF games that play just like it. It's the first of its kind. It's an action adventure JRPG with very light RPG elements that focuses on the narrative and high production value. Tales games like Tales of Arise plays similarly but has more RPG elements where your armour and items matter more but nowhere near the production value from bosses and cinematics.

Well, I have never played those games. So I am researching them now. Thank you!

Tales of Arise was decent , I liked it when it came out. Probably more polished now and I believe their DLC is coming out soon.

If it does I hope Xbox people support it, it's a great game.
That's the best way to keep these kinds of things from happening in the future, enough people need to actually buy the actual games. Even if it had launched day and date with PS5 (which I think it should have btw, not a fan of these deals from either side) it's not like sales would have been a whole lot higher, it would probably have been well under a million in sales.

Yup, I'm sure Xbox only fans would say the target audience is not on Xbox that's why the lower sales, but then why be outraged when this is pointed out that some publishers may not see the ROI as being worth the time of the port? lol

Best way of supporting is purchasing the game outright, everything else is just all talk. If the publisher/company sees that sales have met expectations they will continue to release on the platform. Or of course the popular thing these days is having MS prepay and foot the bill :hehe:

Other Japanese companies support Xbox. Square/Enix is the exception, not the rule. There is literally no reason to not bring their games to Xbox aside from paid not to do so and people who choose to play on Xbox shouldn't feel pressure to support them.

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster probably could have been ported in a matter of weeks, yet they chose not to. They are to blame, not Xbox fans.

Why would they support it? Just to get screwed over with FF17. That is Square Enix's MO.

Bit hard to have a target audience when SE screwed them over the last 15 years. That isn't how you grow an audience, it is how you kill it.

Now all their games are flopping on Playstation. Boo hoo!! Your own fault, and we don't don't care.
