My first race online in months. Pay close attention to the white Mercedes AMG with yellow stripe. Tell me where I deserved what he does at the end of the race.

I’m at the movies waiting for it to start. Your video is 10 minutes long. I will forget to check it out tomorrow 😕

Dude why did that happen and why wasn’t he a ghost?

Is the Nordschleife available on Gran Turismo 7 or whatever?

I'm just curious. Not trying to be a fanboy at all.

I just know, and knew (I think) it's a really big deal to get this track right, and have the best version of it.

It's just one track, but it is addictive and legendary on Youtube. I can't afford to buy a Caterham and drive over to Germany, so I just wanted to try that in simulation. But also don't want "sim" like simulation, just want to experience it, you know?

Anyway, I'm trying to make my Caterham look like the one in the video I posted, can't figure it out. I can make it orange but can't figure out how to put some black strips on the bonnet/hood. I'm dumb!!!!!!!!

You bumped into him a whole bunch of times. And yeah it's annoying bumping cars that break too early........

But you say this is online? So it doesn't matter. It is what it is. He was ahead of you and spun out and you crashed into his spun out car..........Deserved has nothing to do with it.

Enjoyed watching though. COOL!

Barely touched him and none of them affected his race. And he already knocked me off track twice.

And here he is spinning out....

Ms needs to get rid of these stupid rules, but it could also be an issue with the state of Washington, I dono…

Although a slew of post-launch updates have improved Forza Motorsportfollowing the title's October launch, it's fair to say the franchise's big reboot has fallen short of fan expectations. It had been six years since Forza Motorsport 7's release, and the follow-up still hit consoles and PCs with glaring graphical and gameplay bugs, incomplete features, and an unpopular single-player campaign—not to mention the Nürburgring Nordschleife's absence. A first-hand account of the game's development published to YouTube by one of its artists may give us insight as to why the day-one product turned out the way it did.

Adrian Campos was employed by Forzadeveloper Turn 10 Studios as a Senior Environment Artist on a contract basis from June 2022 to October 2023. Campos was tasked with building the terrain and scenery surrounding the circuits, "essentially everything not on the track," in his words. His tenure began with work on Mugello and Spa-Francorchamps, but just a month and a half in, he learned that the other environment artist on the team who was showing him the ropes had to leave because their contract was ending. This, unfortunately, would become a theme of Campos' employment.

In time, Campos says Microsoft hired three additional artists to assist him. His description of "crunch" to meet Turn 10's target of 20 environments on launch day, particularly during the period when he was working solo, is regrettably all too common in the realm of triple-A game development. But the key here is what Campos describes as the "18/6 Rule." Basically, the developers that Microsoft would hire on a contract basis—that is to say, for a fixed term without healthcare or benefits—could only work for a maximum of 18 months before being required to take six off.

"Fast forward to around June of 2023, I received an email from the contractor company that really stun-locked me. It said 'hey, your contract is almost up.'" Campos thought he was contracted for 18 months rather than a year, and all Microsoft was willing to do for him was extend his term by a few more months.

"I feel bad—not necessarily for the system or the higher-ups," Campos said. "But I feel bad for the coworkers I'm leaving behind. That's one extra hand they don't have. So much knowledge and niche things I found out about the [game] engine, gone, simply because I didn't have time to write down documentation, because I had to finish a track." He left a week before Forza Motorsport's release last fall.

People knowingly taking contract jobs upset their contracts end as stated before taking said contract job.

True, but did said contract state that it could get cut short at anytime?

I don’t think in this case they’re upset, more like disappointed. Like they wish they could finish what they started and or pass said knowledge unto the next with proper documentation instead of just in their head. Like there should be something in place where the transition could be smoother than what it is now. It’s like you’re going at it but your partner get a text and replies back and then takes the call and you just there, blue ballin, knowing if you finish it off yourself, by whatever mode(s), it’s not the same, if you can even get to that point as well.

I wouldn’t ever do a short term contract job knowing I won’t have a job shortly. I have been at my work for 25 years, make good money and am not at risk.

True, but with most jobs as an artist it’s contract work. But most don’t rely on one, at least the ones I know, and that’s but even because of “hustle culture”. If your not a lead or director or anything higher in the art field then you got nothing else, art in almost any field is only required for a short term.

A new track a month didn't last long.

Zero mention of FRR changes or Skill & Safety Rating changes.
Not sure what the update did.

Aston Martin Valkyrie, I have 500K credits, can't use them to upgrade the car.

I thought that was gonna be a thing?

Confused.
