Official Thread Gears 4 **NO SPOILERS**

I just hope Gears 4 doesn't turn into the wall bouncing orgy that was Gears 3. Let's keep tactics in a tactical shooter please. I hope G4 is a whole new Gears.

tactical shooter? so people sitting behind cover lancering anyone who tries to have fun

NO THANKS

gears is good for its fast gameplay with a good skill gap, and movement is a huge part of that.

I read otherwise with no resolution mentioned for MP.
I will be in shock if the MP was true 1080p/60fps.

Agreed. If the PS4 can't do it, the Xbox One sure as f*** can't do it either. I figure 900p.

What does off topic mentions of PS4 have to do with Gears 4?
Nothing other than pointing out that there is no chance the Xbox One will do multiplayer at 60fps and 1080p for Gears of War 4 because this gen of consoles are just not capable, without sacrifice or reliability.

If this is an Uncharted reference, they don't do split-screen co-op campaign either and every Gears has. Naughty Dog don't tick all boxes.

Gears Ultimate has the same resolution and FPS as Gears 4 that we know of. We just expect it would look better then a UE3 remake farmed out to the lowest bidding asset builder vs. UE4 and the right arm of Rod "The Rod" Fergeson.

What about the super charged X1 they will announce at e3 :)

Let me tell you something. Gears of War 4 is going to be off the chain. You know this, but now you really know it. When TD speaks, it's for a reason.

Not sure if I'm still a fan of this setting. After playing 4 games in this destroyed world setting, I'm not so sure Sera has much more to offer. The planet is destroyed, humanity is destroyed, and the locusts are destroyed. The 'epic' feel of previous games is gone.

I'm fine with Gears 4 taking place on Sera, but I'm not thrilled about another whole Gears trilogy taking place there. I would like to see something on Sera's moon or on another new world fighting to find a new home for humanity.

I don't think the Serans have the technology for that, lol. They are more in line with our modern tech, or slightly less. Beautiful destruction is a Gears thing. There is plenty of opportunity for new, interesting locations on Sera.

I loved the ResiEvil overtures from GoW1. Having to cling to light for dear life.

I never played the multiplayer, and I think that's why the first game remains my fav from the series.

The sequels were by far more cinematic, but so was everything else.

If they fast forward 100 years, it wouldn't be too unbelievable. After all, in just 25 years a new enemy is somehow emerging on Sera.

I feel like we saw all of Sera in the last 4 games. I can't really think of a locale we didn't see.

I'm all for different styles of play, I have more Gnasher kills than anything, but I would rather have balance in the game than just a shotty fest all the time.

UE did a good job at that.

variety is in the gnasher battles for me.. location, how many people there are, how to tackle it etc

i love KOTH type gamemodes, so anytime long range weapons can down people constantly is a bad thing and just kills the fun.

meh i am sure it will cater more to people like me so its a mute argument anyway

Gears 3 did a good job at balancing. The Gnasher and rifles had their place, and both were equally effective when used right. Gears 1 & 2 I used Gnasher like 99% of the time. Gears 3 I likely used it 60-65% of the time.
