I would say the same for the original image. We are all gamers no matter the platform. That kind of stuff only fuels more divisiveness.
I think it would be in poor taste had they done the same for a Microsoft exclusive.
Anyway I can't wait to play this.
Yeah, its a joke. But I and I think others are tired of the sniping that goes on back and forth. We're gamers and no matter the platform you prefer we have much in common with each other because of our hobby. And yet it seems like so much energy is wasted highlighting what we don't agree on. Its the same sh!t going on between DC & Marvel fans. I don't understand why one group wants the other to fail when both groups are fans of the same thing.
Anyway, this day at work is going at a snails pace. I purchased the digital version this morning and all I can do is fantasize about how I'm going to play the sh!t out of this game tonight. I'm already looking at ways to reschedule some of the errands I have to run this weekend so I can maximize game-time.
I purchased it this morning directly from my PS4. So it should be done downloading. If it hasn't downloaded my rage may rival that of Kratos himself.
HA I told my wife I'm doing jack s*** this weekend and the mean TV is mean. that is how a real man does it.
About 6 or 7 hours into this game. This is my GOTG, sorry Horizon you have been dethroned.
That console warrior bs is expected in comment sections. IGN is supposed to be a professional site, and posts like that raise questions of Bias, tbh.
I have enjoyed the first hour of GOW more than the entirety of Horizon that I have played (like 12 hours).
It was a joke and I think his apology is a bit much but it never should have been done, that's the kind of thing you'd expect from a blog or someone's social media but not what is supposed to be a gaming news site.

This generation has been full of gamers doing what IGN did.
In a way it was messed(and true) up but at the same time its sad that people have to be careful what they say and can't express themselves.
IGN looks more foolish by taking it back and it will be on Xbox fans minds every time IGN is mentioned.
Maybe they will overrate a upcoming Xbox exclusive to make up for it.
So if we see a exclusive getting 5,6 and 7s and IGN gives it a 8.5 or higher...it will be suspect.

The fact that some people think the original image was okay from a supposedly unbiased gaming site is ridiculous.
This just fuels the idea that the gaming media as a whole are biased. Never needed to happen.
That's the whole reason they shouldn't do it, something that is expected on forums or places where people don't have any journalistic standard is one thing but they are supposed to be a news site, it just seems beneath what they are supposed to be IMO. The apology sounded like the kind of thing you'd say if someone said something racist not a joke about video games and it was too much, they should have just deleted it and maybe said something like "sorry bad joke" and left it at that.
meh I'm at work typing stuff. the good thing about being in IT is I can work and surf all at the same time. mind you I also spell and write like a 10-year-old but meh. The game is on my porch waiting for me when I get home.

I agree IGN shouldn't have done it but I think IGN was responding to the verge article about xbox one being the best console.
A multi format gaming journalist should be able to express himself. The whole IGN doesn't have to agree with what he said.
An apology is fine but he shouldn't be directly apologizing to people at Microsoft. That is dumb.
Played 2.5 hours but now heading out of town. First boss fight was brilliant stuff. Playing on normal and thinking that’s a mistake. Little easy. Any opinions on difficulty? Is 2nd hardest comparable to Souls?
Played for about 2 hours and had to take a break because the greatness was melting my face. Not really, but close. Getting ready for more NBA playoffs and the platinum is only going to take ~30 hours or so. I can do that in my sleep, so no rush. Busy time of the year. Oh, and can i just say i love the axe mechanics? Such a simple concept, but feels so enjoyable.
Just saw the IGN thing. Can't say i blame them, they're human and Sony has another hit on their hands but obviously there needs to be some professionalism if you're getting paid to do a job. Hopefully God of War and this whole gen in particular gives Microsoft the kick in the ass they need. Why can't every game be this good? That's all i want. Great games, regardless of platform. Halo on a massive scale with RPG elements. Boom! GOTY contender right there Microsoft and you didn't even need to take a chance on a new IP.

Wouldn't have been any issue if it was that person's personal account. It just doesnt look good from a pro site. It's barely a blip, but it IS bad form from an official acct.
