That’s a great fight.

One of the most memorable battles ever in a video game IMO.

I will 3rd this sentiment.

I was breathing so hard during this battle...(playing on hard).

I felt like I was watching a DragonBall Z fight. LOL.
The game is sooooo good!

That fight really felt like something out of a movie.

I literally felt tired after the fight with the stranger.

And I love how they gave you a false sense of power going into it.[spoiler:]

Is it just me, or is there no ambient occlusion? It seems to be missing, unless there is some super subtle iteration. Game is fantastic, visually, but I'm feeling the lack, or perceived lack thereof.

It is there. It is subtle and dialed back though (most likely to save GPU power.)
I've noticed it tends to be more liberal in use during the ingame cutscenes and on characters.

I really enjoy the interactions between Kratos and Atreus.

Yeah they have some good lines of dialogue and I think the developer should get a lot of praise for making an AI partner who is actually useful and doesn't get in the way, pretty rare thing in gaming but they've done an awesome job with him.

I wonder how they are handling it because every now and then I think I catch it, but then it seems to be missing most of the time. Especially noticable lack in the foliage. It's really impressive how great it looks even without it, but I can't help but wish it were in there.

All that said, Kratos' in-game model is the best in all of gaming, imo.

This game just gets even more incredible as you play. Locations open up due to the story, pathways allow you to go back to previous areas and more side content becomes available. The locations you continue to explore through the story are jaw dropping. It is just like continuous jaw dropping moments one after another. Also I LOVE the freaking shield, it is so brutal and grounded but really adds another dimension to the combat to up and personal to the enemies you encounter.

Good to know I can revisit previously explored areas. There was a chest I couldn't get to right before entering that area with the world serpent. This is a beautiful looking game and on top of that the controls are super tight. I was messing with the controls and found the default settings to work the best. Classic controls make ax combat a little easier but I wasn't able to move and throw the ax as well which is a big part of combat for me so I switched back to default.

Another thing is the devs did a great job with the kid. He's really helpful and I haven't got tired of watching him jump on the enemies back and choke them out. Not only does it give you an opening for attack but its a nice distraction when fighting multiple enemies. The little one is great at crowd control.

Yes and the way you go back and revisit older areas so organically done.Overall the level design and how the way locations become available is just so awesome. You probably already know what I am talking about.

There is a location in this game which feels like it could be in the Lord Of the Rings. I literally thought I was in Lord of the Rings when enemies weren't appearing too.

The game only released Friday but it already has the biggest first week sales in series history in the UK selling 35% more copies than GOW3 did in it's first week and that's only counting physical sales, pretty impressive considering it was only on sale for a day or two.

If it can grow its sales in Europe whilst maintaining the sales in the US then it will be the highest selling God Of War game. Anecdotal of course but I know a few people in the UK who are holding off till they get paid next to get this game so it will be interesting to see what legs it has.

This game is special. I'm near the end but still giving it a couple days break before I start again. This is the kind of game you will remember this generation of Playstation console for. Years down the line when you think PS4 I'm pretty certain this'll be the game most who played will remember.

Best part for me is the character development. I was worried there might be some cringe here and there with his relationship with the Son but Goddamn....The writers deserve a f*cking bonus.

Well deserved

I am so glad it wasnt another overhyped game based on story focus like UC4 and TLOU... It actually has amazing gameplay to go with the great story and visuals

It might be my game of the generation, will have to wait for RDR2 lol

This might be one of the best single player games I have ever played. Are the other God of War games like this?
