Trying online was pointless. Every place has been sold out for weeks or months.

Went to a few Costcos. Zilch on the shelf, zilch when I asked.

Went to Future Shop. Zilch on the shelf, but I ask a guy if they had more. He decided to go to the Online Merch Pick Up booth and just grabbed me one from there. lol. Unfortunately, it wasn't a Day One black box. So I just got a standard green bundle. Finally got rid of $80 of FS store credit too.

As a start, I got CoD, BF4, that extra controller + charging thing bundle, and a $50 marketplace card to get KI (gonna get the $40 version) and maybe Peggle 2. Will look into NBA2k14 and F5 later. Maybe AC4 too. Not going to bother with NFS, DR3 or Ryse.

I still have my 360. Not sure whether to move it to another room and buy a new TV to go with it. Or just keep everything in the same room and get an HDMI splitter (heard about these, got to look into how they work). I see a $335 32" Samsung TV at Costco that looks tempting (model 5300).

Most places are sold out, but I swear I read an article a while back about how MS AND Sony were holding shipments back for the Black Friday/Christmas rush.

We did something similar at Walmart. My mom and brother went with me to pick up my pre-orders. My brother wanted to get an X1 but had not pre-ordered. We showed up at walmart at about 8 am Friday. Looked on the shelves in electronics and there were no X1s. We told the clerk we were there to pick up my pre-orders. Went back to layaway, were the clerk brought out my 2 X1s. My mom asked the clerk if they had any extra in stock. So the clerk went into the back and emerged a few minutes later with a X1 in the green box. So my brother was able to get one, but it wasn't a Day 1 Edition.

For sure they are. Suppliers and stores are obligated to offer stock to cover off flyers and advetised deals. It doesn't mean they have to have enough to cover every person, but at least a reasonable amount. If suppliers and stores purposely advertised product knowing there is none that is false advertising and illegal. Stores can always put disclaimers saying stock is low, but fully knowing there is an absurdly low amount or none is a no-no.

I'm surprised so many people prefer the day one edition. Once its unpacked it doesn't matter what color the box was and IMHO the controller stamp is kinda dorky.

Dat achievement though.

I'm fairly certain that's not happening, if Sony/MS sells a unit today, compared to black friday they're probably just as happy - more likely they will funnell more units to the states during Black Friday, due to increased demand.
