Halo: The Master Chief Collection coming to Xbox One 11/11/2014, Halos 1-4

actually, I think halo 3 was at 24 fps.

This was before anyone really cared though, before the cod, before the dark times..
It really ran at 24? If so, makes sense. That game had some stuttery gameplay and massive blur effect. Put CoD 4 and Halo 3 beside each other. One moves slow with a vasoline smear when you pan the camera. The other moves smooth no matter what you are doing.

For me the complete opposite. I love Halo 4's gameplay, was never big on Bungie's Halo games except for the first one.

I know i cannot expect these games to look like true Xbox One games, but if they can make Halo , Halo 2 and 3 look like Halo 4 but even nicer thanks to X1, i will be happy. I would not like it if it's just Halo 2 from the first Xbox in HD.

However...all this has yet to be announced by MS, nothing official so far. Also i hope if this turns out to be true, that we won't be seeing more E3 leaks. But what can you do.

Then go to your local drug store because this is what I want.

Well, Since Halo 4 online community died the fastest rate out of all the halo games, It looks like you and 5 other guys are the only ones that enjoyed the gameplay in halo 4.

I liked Halo 3 the best for multiplayer but Halo 2 was definitely cool with the dual wielding...

I'd definitely get this. I was pretty later to the Halo party so I would like to get a chance at Halo CE and Halo 2 again, hopefully with MP intact.

There was a lot less competition when Halo2 released though. Many people jumped ship during REACH too didn't they? Halo3 was early in the generation and COD(MW) wasn't a thing yet, I think.

I also heard that 343 had eventually sorted things out with 4, but it was too late.

At the time, Halo 2 WAS the game to play on live.

The decline started with Reach and it continued to Halo 4.

I think Reach and H4 have excellent multiplayer but even if they make 5 better I doubt they would steal COD's population.

Yeah that the thing, when H2 came out there wasn't much competition in the console FPS category, and it didn't hurt that H2 was pretty good all round. Fast forward a few years to H3 and it was a lot more crowded and it only got worse from there.

more like at least 10,000 (admittedly only on a good day) but whatever.
I can not understand it, they bitch and moan for a certain way of playing, then it is given to them, and it's the lowest ranking playlist in the whole game.
there are, currently, 78 people in proving ground. Team Slayer - 1,193
WALL INCOMING, TURN BACK
Though has anyone seen the most recent (november of last year) top 10 live update?
It's grand theft auto, call of duty, call of duty, minecraft, fifa, call of duty, battlefield, skyrim, call of duty, madden
bit of a pattern there..
(Who the hell can play skyrim that much on a console? Without mods...what the hell are they doing for that long?)

Halo 4 was at 13, Reach at 18, and 3 knocked off the map after the 3 days of nostalgia from the free download wore off.

In my view, it is not halo, or 343i, it's not their fault. Halo simply used to be the only thing that would sate these people. Then the fish came along and near ruined the entire industry, brought these...outsiders, in, shifted the paradigm. (Now we have games acting as platforms for tv actors in micheal bay films under the guise of "splinter cell," and PEGGLE 2) Now you have people who never liked halo, or even video games to begin with, coming in massive droves to their almighty fish, or others who had halo but left it for something they thought better.

That's my perspective, at least.
Yes, they changed things, but I think any amount of fans leaving due to those gameplay changes are negligible, and the majority of the numbers left, I think, because they found jesu-I mean the fish.

It was unavoidable from the start, unless call of duty had never existed, this is always how it was going to be.

I agree with this.

I remember playing Gears 1 with my friends waiting for Halo 3 to come out and they couldn't stop talking about the COD beta and how they were all going to buy COD 4 when it came out, I thought they were wrong and Halo would be the game we play. Halo 3 came out and it was great, a week later COD came out and they all switched. After a few days of signing in and having no one to play Halo with I caved and bought COD fully prepared to hate it, instead I loved it and never went back to Halo.

Halo/Gears will never be as big as they were so long as COD continues to be popular. That's why I think it's smart that Gears Judgment and Titanfall were released in March. They can't compete with COD, but by the time March rolls around most people are bored and looking for something new to play.

That's why I hope that Halo comes out in March as well. By then I'll be done with COD Advanced Warfare and looking for another multiplayer game to play. I won't play Halo 5 for years and years, but I will at least play it for 6 months solid until the next multiplayer game comes out. But if it comes out at the same time as COD? Then I'll still buy it for the campaign, but I won't devote as much attention to the multiplayer.

I think we've reached the crux of it. I honestly think Halo takes more skill than your average person wants to invest. It's actually what I like about Halo MP- that each enemy you face is a battle, because of that shield. I definitely remember a number of people talking about how it takes too many shots to kill the other guy. In Halo, even if you are shot at first, you still have the ability to take him out if you have the skill (another reason I like Regenerating health- you aren't coming in handicapped against the next guy you take on). Even the floaty jumping is done so you can effectively shoot in mid-air.

Too much work when you get instant gratification from COD, which is usually "whoever sees the other guy first wins".

COD doesn't require skills, that is why its gotten big and popular. Halo you need skills because that is the only way you will get around. That is the reason why a lot of people didn't like Halo Reach and Halo 4 because of the skill difference. Plus no perks that will hold your hand.

I thought we went through this already.

There were multiple CODs during Halo 3s life and it was always #1 or #2. Reach fell off but not like 4. From a population standpoint 4 was a disaster. You can talk about competition all you want but Halo shouldnt have trouble cracking the top 10.

just Halo would have done me, but bargain to include 4 for the price. i look forward to doing all the vehicle missions from all games in one go.

Halo 4 mp got tons better with the later patches. It was just too little, too late. People who gave up on it before some of the updates last year should give it another shot. It got way better.

Damn, you ain't lying

So, H2 is the only one that gets the full treatment like that? It looks amazing gotta say
Well Halo 1 is the 360 Anniversary edition, but other then that I think 3 and 4 are the same game just 1080p 60fps.

That mean H2 legendary is gonna be the same "cheap" difficulty, man there were some parts that were just brutal...

Halo 4 is going to look incredible at 1080 60fps, even if they don' touch anything else

I still can't believe that Halo CE's multiplayer is going to be on Xbox Live....freaking wow.

I really am excited for this one... I haven't had a chance to play any of it yet, and I just really want to know what 1080p/60fps Halo *feels* like...

Can't wait to play some Zanzibar... I loved that map.

Ah, and "Hang Em' High" with the pistol of death... so good... I remember playing that before the original Halo released. People didn't like playing against me.
