Hands on with the Xbox One vs. Xbox 360 controllers.

This was purely an aesthetics and feel comparison with no games or system play. The Xbox One controller felt just as comfortable in my hands as the 360 controller. There's no real fit difference. The missing is aesthetically pleasing but offered no fee difference.

The dpad felt superior. You can now feel, and hear, where you're at on the pad. I hope this translates to better performance as well.

The shining change us how the triggers feel and fit in you hands and fingers. It's now possible to press the shoulder button without taking your finger off a trigger. That's going to make games line Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4 play a tad easier. That's not possible for me on the 360 controller.

A negative, the throw on the thumbsticks feel shorter on the Xbox One controller than they do on the 360 controller. Also, the throw of each thumb stick on the Xbox One controller felt different as well. The throw in the left thumbstick felt shorter than the right. I don't think I was imagining things. They genuinely felt different.

Call me ignorant, but I have no idea what a throw is. Are you throwing the controllers like boomerangs to test their aero dynamics?
That's very important when judging the performance of controllers. Especially with the move towards interactive gaming (Kinect, Oculus Rift). Never know what might be asked of you.

Also, I don't think Xbox 360 Kontrolfreaks will fit on it. The thumbstick nubs on the Xbox One controller are smaller than the 360 controller nubs.

Plus, home defense. I want to know that my console purchase will help fend of robbers, loiterers, endangered species, and girl scouts trying to raise money for the homeless.

I see now. Does it make a clicky sound? I remember some kind of fighting game controller and the thumbstick on it was supposed to replicate a joystick. It would make a clicky sound when you moved it.
Not in a pressing motion but a movement motion from north to south.

Interesting, never heard of them. They seem to have a bunch of different types, do they all do different things or is it just the look of them that's different?
Different throw lengths and different nubs. The longer the Freek the longer the throw. Longer throws better for snipers. Shorter throws better for assault rifles.

Hmm, interesting..what purpose do they serve? and do they serve that purpose well?

There was some bitch ass pro gamer dude that competed in a Battlefield 3 competition a while ago. He and other pro gamers were coaching noobs, like people that haven't even touched a controller before, how to play BF3. The guy made it to the end of the contest, but refused to 2v2 and walked out on his trainee because he didn't have his Kontrol Freeks.

Yeah his name was Proofy. Can't stand the little s***, walked out on 50G's and left his teammate because of it.

PV, how the 4 face buttons? The distance is supposed to be closer between them and the feel of them is suppose to be different. Can the X+Y buttons be pressed at the same time easily with your thumb? On the 360 controller, I can barely do it unless my thumb is perfectly aligned. This may be important for fighting games when a move needs a X+Y pressed at the same time.

How's the sensitivity to the RS click press? I found it too sensitive on 360 as I'd occasionally press it when moving, so in CoD I'd sometimes press knife when I meant to move. lol.

It makes the throw longer and makes movements more precise. I can't use a controller without them.
The throw is the same to me, just that the sticks are taller on the X1 controller, so it takes less effort to go to extremes as your point of turn is quicker. You will notice this when you play as they seem more responsive and sensitive until you adjust.

I have a very heavy right thumb and I sometimes change scoping in CoD by accident. The ones on the X1 controller feel stiffer but I believe the 36o controller felt the same. So, I expect after wear they will make the Xbox One's thumbstick button presses the same as the 360's.

I seriously don't need them to be more sensitive. Hopefully it's a quick adjust and the KontrolFreek can get out some new thumbs ASAP. Having switched to them, it's tough to go to a shorter thumbstick for me.

I found the sticks on the new controller to be extremely sensitive, especially in battlefield. If I was playing in default, I'll be lowering it when I get the game on release.

I agree, it was definitely more twitchy. Hope there is a universal sensitivity setting for the X1 that applies to all games.

I thought I noticed something different about the face buttons. They seemed closer together but didn't revisit a comparison as I was concentrating on the thumbstick throws and the spacing difference if shoulder buttons and triggers.
