This show is my jam.

Just picked up the season 1 DVD. Can't wait to go on a marathon with this bad boy. Last I heard, second season isn't until next year. Any fans of the show? Also, Crytek is gonna have to make a Vikings game Ryse style. Need that s***.

I enjoyed it quite a bit. I watched it while it was actually airing on TV. It's pretty great, almost like an HBO series, but (unfortunately) without the nudity. I was looking at the Blu-Ray the other day in Target and it said it has added "unrated scenes". So please let me know if this includes boobage.

I liked it at first. I really love the way they wove their religion into it with visions of Odin. But it didn't really seem to go anywhere. I'm going to give the second season a try. Hopefully this ends up on netflix so I can watch it uninterrupted. Some shows are just better that way.

Watching the DVD now, but I realized that I never did see the first episode. Don't think I ever saw the last one either. So new stuff for me, I'm all hooked on the show again.

My friends baby brother is an extra. He was a couple of episodes last season and is in it again this season.

Cool beans. Does he have a real beard? Did he get the back of his head shaved, or is that just a wig?
He's a right metal head so has the beard and long hair. He's posting loads of pics on Facebook. I'll grab one or two.

As long as he doesn't get in trouble. Just finished the season actually. I'll be digesting the special features and will probably give the commentary a whirl. Damn show got me hook line and sinker.

Like some others, I wanted to like it. It wasn't terrible, I just felt like "is that it?"
The execution is well done, and the acting is pretty good, especially Gabriel Byrne. The story is based on old mythology, which I'm fine with too. But the writing seems hollow. Maybe because I watched after GoT.

I think it's biggest hurdle is that it's a historical epic. Where GoT has free range, Viking's has to take into account real life people and events. In a nut shell, it feels like a History Channel tv show at times which can go either way I think.

I think they've been doing a pretty good job so far, all things considered. The only thing they have to hold back on with the TV series is the epic amounts of sex and rape those dudes partook in. A little nudity would be nice, though.

Season 2 footage (as seen in the gifs I posted). Good stuff, but huge SPOILER warning. Let's just say that you'd probably want to keep it spoiler free if love surprises. No real warning about it in the video or description so I'm slightly PO'ed.

Since this show is a hit. I hope History Channel comes up with another good new show. What time period in history would you like one to be set in?

I would like to see one set during the Knights Templars and what went on during their time.

I think the perfect historical piece is one with a combo of ambiguity and historical facts. Part of would like to see one about Constantine as the first Christian Emperor. First season could be Ceaser dead at the beginning with him ultimately gaining power. I wouldn't mind seeing something in the middle east as well. I suppose the crusades would be a good one for that idea.

I am a big fan of Medival /fantasy shows, be it action (thrones, Vikings) or pure drama like the pillars of the Earth, world without end (both which I highly recommended, they are like Thrones, minus the fantasy, taking place in an imaginary place in England in the middle ages. The ending of Pillars of the Earth is epic, making me cry).

Viking is not bad, its one of my favorite as well.

Yasuke the African samurai.

Warning: the video with Ragnar contains potential spoilers. History Channel really needs to work on that.

Only a couple more weeks until the new season!!!! :bang::bang::bow::bow::360::og:
