Am I already dead?
It's a sci-fi novel and the protagonist is a 15 year-old girl, because that's what the premise calls for. I feel like I'm crazy to even try this. I don't want to talk too much about the story because I'm not even half-way through the rough draft, and the outline is very fluid. It's not a wholly original idea (such a thing may be impossible), but I think I'm putting enough spin on it to make it viable.
Typical YA clichés I'm trying to avoid:
This is uncharted territory for me. I'm scared guys.

Typical YA clichés I'm trying to avoid:
- A love triangle
- You are the Chosen One!
- Post apocalyptic dystopia in which everyone is separated into distinct political factions
- Sex scenes (holy s***, that would be creepy to write)
- Abusive/alcoholic parents
This is uncharted territory for me. I'm scared guys.
