The Chinese tourists I seen have no issue with carrying Japanese SLR cameras around. Japan may not be China favorite Neighbor, but the hate (which should diminished pretty much with younger gen) do not get overshadow by logic & common sense, like pretty much people elsewhere.
Most certainly a Chinese will consider a BMW, Audi or Merc before a similar priced & speced Lexus. However, when a Japanese product is better or better value, like most cameras, they will have no issue picking it up.
