Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- would be the prettiest sprite-based 2D fighter I've played, only those aren't sprites. ARC System Works' tricksy polygon work results in a game that has to be seen running 60 frames per second at 1080p.

This is exactly what I wanted Capcom to do that with Street Fighter Series. A truly good 2D fighters with extremely smooth animation and all that amazing stuffs. If only Capcom listens... ::sigh::

I can't wait for this. I loved Blazblue. This will be no exception. And 60fps is the only way this kind of critical timing and execution of intense and masterful gameplay can have exist. I'm glad they are who they are!

That is f***ing legit. This is how you update a 2d game, it's almost perfect.

My only grievance (because I always have one) is I-No's guitar. What good is a locking-nut on a guitar that doesn't have a floating tremolo? I don't think that would help much besides make things annoying, plus there are no fine-tuners on the tremolo, so that guitar would be damn near impossible to keep tuned. Fix it.

My only niggle is that it needs to take a bit more advantage of the 3rd graphics. I get that the cloth is not simulated so they can make it look hand drawn, but why not at least have some key-frame blending?

If Capcom would make a 2d Ghouls N Ghosts or Konami make a 2d Castlevania with hand drawn art at 1080P/60, I would be incredibly happy.

and I thought the Naruto fighter games were cool.
Agree. That is a hell of a use of the hand-drawn look. They even use squash and stretch, all manner of deformation, and crazy camera-work that really sells it and makes it feel like an episode of the show.

Guitly Gear Xrd never released in my area and I'm in the U.S. I'm wondeing how it plays on Ps3 because I don't have a Ps4 yet. Did it release in North America yet?

Damn these people and their limited time demo. Want to try this game almost to the point of just buying the damn thing. I'm not that good at fighters and just got Injustice via PS+ though and only tried it for like 15 minutes. But this game... its beauty brings a tear to my eye.

Edit: Now that I think of it, I got $10 or $15 back from PSN after buying $100 worth of garbage last month, plus with the 10% coupon for the network being down... hmmm

GiantBomb called this one of the best looking titles of the year. What a shame. It looks good but we've kind of seen this before.

Looks great. Between the new Guilty Gear and Street Fighter V being exclusive, i guess we can dub the PS4 as the go to fighter console. Greatness awaits.

It's a bit disappointing. They want it to look so much like the old hand-drawn games, that they even limit the animation to look like mid-level cel animation. Why in the name of gamedom don't they up the animation quality. I swear, it's like they are even holding frames when they don't have to just to make it look like the old games.

I get it, they want it to look a certain way, but it would be far more impressive if they made it more feature film level. As it is, the Naruto games crap all over this from an animation standpoint. I'd like to see them push the camera-work more during game-play.

$60 for a fighter :meh:

I am going to have to try before I buy.

Should fighting games be less? Out of all the genres I buy, they easily end up racking up the most hours played. I know everyone has different gaming habits, but I'm curious why you think they should be cheaper.

Because they usually are cheaper then $60.

Not sure I've seen a fighter launch at less than $60, especially big named ones....

ARC Sysems Works games are usually around $40 with exception of Guilty Gear Xrd on Ps4. Aquapazza ($30.00) and Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure Battle Royal (Not suree about it's price at launch) were also good and cheap but these games are unknown/over looked.

I wouldn't say $60 is a rip off considering the hours required for one character. I could blow through hours just learning combos, timing and set ups.

I think figthing games are like RPG's except your skills are upgraded and not the character itself.

That's why as much as I want to like fighters these days, I just don't have the time to learn how to play it lol. This is also why I enjoy Smash Bros since it's easier to at least understand since all the attacks are the same. It's just a matter of knowing what it does and when to use it. Probably not much different from other fighters but it is for me damn it.

Yep same here. Just went through the training so far but game looks great. Probably be a bit before I really get into it as I'm still playing with Killer Instinct.
