I'm looking into this mostly for my Dad. My parents have a tiny home in a small town and it seems hard to find things to do to stay active. My Dad has also been dealing with a fatigue symptom, but the doctor just thinks he needs more regular exercise. He seems to think exercise is 'work' like do yard projects, but the problem is once a project is done, but slowly winds up on the couch.
So.... I thought I ask about the XBox as a possible activity tool, especially since when Winter comes it will be even harder to stay active. I am a PC and VR gamer, but I happen to already have an XBox One Kinect from a project experiment I tried for VR. Maybe I could pick up an XBox One to go with it.
With that said, I don't really know about about XBox or the state of Kinect Games or perhaps shooters that use a 'Light Gun'.
Another take on this from personal experience, when I did longhaul trucking, some travel stops with arcades for a while had this neat TERMINATOR shooter. This does not compare to Gym time, but IMO lot's of aiming, shooting, and reloading is FUN which I think makes it easier to do the activity over a long time. At the very least, standing and shooting beats sitting and watching FOX News garbage.
One last thing related to this is unfortunately, I don't think my Dad would like VR and he has little interest in video games. So... that's why I'm not considering something like a Quest 2.
Otherwise, my dad rectly turned 80 and he's healthy aside from some bouts with feeling low energy.
