I know nobody likes to move, but I think I hate it more than anyone in the world. Sure, it's exciting moving to a new area and into a new place, but the whole process of packing/cleaning and unpacking/cleaning is horrible. The good thing, I've tossed most of my furniture and ordered all new stuff that's being delivered later this week.

I'm only moving about 45 minutes north of where I'm at now. It will cut my daily commute from about 1.5 to 2 hours down to 20 minutes. Plus, the place is nice and the rent is a steal.

Ugh, back to work. F*ck.

Yeah, moving stinks. It's a big chore. Shaving an hour per day off your commute is worth the trouble, though.

I'll be moving at the end of this year and have made my mind up on a few things.
I'm buying a new refrigerator as i'm on the 3rd floor and there's no way i'm moving that heavy as thing (free on craigslist)
I'm buying a new bed set, just cause and i'm dumping the futon in the spare room
I'm dumping my sofas, i have cats so after seven years they are trash anyway.
seeing that this is CA and we have a s***load of illegal immigrants i wont be carrying s***.

This could be the best move ever....

I, too, hate moving. The time of lease is almost up and my wife and I are trying to figure out what to do next year. We're not rich and we're living on every dollars being spend on bills/foods. Ugh. It can be very stressful at times.

I'm from London but me and the wife had a condo in Long Beach we decided to make the move to San Francisco it cost me in the region of $8k on movers who practically did everything including putting everything in to the new house/building beds/wardrobe ext.

A steal and a god send. What a chore moving can be.

Moving in with my girlfriend in July. She only lives a block away and I'm getting rid of a lot of my furniture. Should be an easy move for once. Keeping my bed at her parents house though so when our lease is up next year we can have it for a spare bedroom. The apt I'm moving to has an office, so it's not big enough for a bedroom, but it is big enough for my tv/gaming center. Mancaves ftw

I feel you on the drive. I spend over 2.5 hours in the car a day. Comes to about 5k a year in gas, let alone the depreciation your car takes and maintenance it needs. This winter in NE Ohio was brutal too. Got to catch up on a lot of books through audio though, so that's nice. My last job was only a 5 minute commute. Great job...too bad we all got laid off. Had to find work elsewhere, and since I'm in the IT field and live in a smallish town that meant looking outside my desired location. Kind of out of the way from where my wife works so moving would just make her life harder. So to save money for a new place and start looking for a different job, we sold the house and moved to my dad's and are there now until I find a new job that is in a better location(and less miserable). I put a ton of work into my old house and we're happy to see a 40% profit on it (no joke). So we're saving a ton right now and are ready to splurge on a new home.

The moving though...move to my dad's place, just to be here a few months and then move again. To top it off, my new job I've been at for 6 months is an absolute nightmare. Ugh. Oh well, gotta just go with whatever life throws at ya I guess. Could be a lot worse. Good news is, I have an interview tomorrow for a really good job where my wife works. I'd buy everyone on this forum a drink if I got it.

Just move and deal with it. People are born to live in the great outdoors, if we could just revert back to that we wouldn't need to complain about moving these materials.

On the other had, I'd much rather have a day of moving than a day of work. You know I'm going to move a few things and then play a game or something.

f*** you bitch I may move more then 12 hours away from where I live now soon.

In the process of buying the house i'm living in now, so glad I won't have to move anymore.

Man I moved 3 times in the last year. Once when a house on contract went bad, then to a slum house. Just got done with the 3rd move last month.
The only good thing about moving is I can throw away a bunch of stuff that my wife keeps. Who in the world keeps 4 year old phonebooks?

I hate moving too. Sometimes I have to get up to go to the bathroom. Other times I need some food in the kitchen. The struggle is real.

The only thing that sucks worse than moving is helping someone else move.

They buy you pizza or something for helping. Lol

I usually feel pretty good after helping a friend move. Gives me a little bit of satisfaction. Plus beer, I like the feeling of beer.

Moving sucks but what's worse is people asking you to help them move, everyone I know has moved at least 3 times it would seem and I'm always the idiot that gets asked to help because I feel too guilty saying no but damn I hate it lol.

Eh, I must be in minor but I love helping people out with their moves. They'd ask me to use my truck to carry out many of their stuffs from place to other place. I actually don't mind at all. :)

Say goodbye to your balls.
Might as well shave them for their last joy ride.

I've got no problem helping people move. What gets my goatse is when they ask you to help move and then you get over to their place and they haven't even started packing anything into boxes yet and ask that you help them!
Dude, I don't want to handle your cheap stupid little tchotchke and make sure your "his and her" towels go in the correct box!
