New image spotted of Samsung's 7-inch phone, the Galaxy Mega 7.0

http://www.neowin.net/news/new-image-spotted-of-samsungs-7-inch-phone-the-galaxy-mega-70

Yesterday, we reported that Samsung is preparing a big new addition to its range of Galaxy smartphones, one that features an enormous 7-inch display. Judging by the reactions from our readers, Samsung probably shouldn’t expect too many sales of the gigantic device among the Neowin community.
But despite lacking the support of this particular demographic, it seems that Samsung is nonetheless forging ahead with its plans to release the vast new handset. Today, a new image has emerged, giving us a slightly better idea of what it will look like when it launches, albeit sporting a protective case.

First published by Ortud.com, the device is again seen with China Mobile logos and, for the time being, it remains unclear whether or not it will remain exclusive to that market and, perhaps, that carrier too. Although the Mega 7.0 was previously seen picking up its certification via America’s FCC, this is no guarantee that the handset will actually see a launch there.
Pricing and availability details are still unclear, but GSM Arena speculates that it could be launched at an event scheduled for June 12, at which Samsung’s new Galaxy Tab S range is due to be unveiled.

They never stop making new phones every year, eh? :)
Volume is their game- Making all size & spec to max market penetration. They have been very successful. Most people I know have a Samsung, Iphones are distance 2nd, with few using Nokia & Huawei.

I think the price & various screen size option are a plus point. The Iphone screen are too tiny for many people.

I think I will buy something else than Samsung soon..
Mine is just a year or so old, a Galaxy Note II were fully charged at yesterday morning, but yesterday night - it had lost it's charge, and I couldn't get it on - usually it's at half power when I drop it in the docking station each night.
It also kind of smelled burnt from the battery, so didn't gamble on charging it.
A few hours later tough, I could turn it on tough, but the battery where at critical low - and screen turned black before I could type pin-code - so I left it at home.
Don't think I will charge it again, I'll just buy a different brand, hopefully it will last longer or come with a better battery. :-/

The Xperias are good, well built devices. At least the newer ones.

Good sleek,non-cheap-plasticky feeling like the Samsungs.

I wish phones were still 3.5" displays like the original iPhone. My hands can't handle all of these ridiculous sizes.

There are still small displays available on smartphones?

I hope and wish. I think 4.0'' is the smallest I have found, and even those are very few. It's frustrating and hard to find a good pocket-sized phone with the new fad in full throttle.

Haha I still have an AT&T flip phone.

Actually, if I ever do another upgrade, I wonder if I can get a Flip Phone with Data that can tether to a tablet?

I was thinking about this the other day. I have a hard time imagining myself Texting or typing on tiny phone screens or those tiny pull out keyboards. I'm just so used to regular Keyboard Typing. I've become gradually more open to the idea of using a Kindle Fire though or something similar.

A Wifi tablet paired with a Flip Phone makes sense to me.

I'm not an iPhone advocate, but is the new, slightly longer screen on the iPhone 5 really unmanageable for you?

Personally, I'm a fan of the Lumia range. They have some small ones.

The height of the new iPhones really is a bit out of my comfort zone. I don't have the hands for it. I've checked out Nokia's offerings lately because of the new WP8.1 having me curious, but there 4.0'' phone available for AT&T has a dim budget IPS LCD display. Unfortunately, anything smaller than 4.3'' is now a budget phone. This was never the case four years ago.

You probably don't need to get a new phone, it's probably just the battery is done.

If it's similar to my experience with my Galaxy SII:

Was disappointed in the battery life from the get-go. Would maybe last 10 hours on a full charge from when it was new.

A year later started experiencing the battery draining from full charge within an hour to 10%

Couple weeks later battery/phone was just dead.

Ordered a cheap replacement battery (with higher mAh) for $12 off ebay.

Phone suddenly worked and battery lasted longer than ever from first charge. Second charge the battery lasted 2 full days!

So basically, the stock battery was s*** from the beginning.

Slap that baby into your phone and I bet you'll be surprised. Same brand as I got and I had a great experience just passing it on.

The new 7" Samsung is ridiculous. How does that even fit in your pocket? lol. I have the HTC One M8 and i feel out of place holding it to my ear to make a phone call as is. I love having a bigger screen for browsing the web though. Anything more than 5" is overkill.

The Xperia Z3 looks awesome IMO, I love that they are high end phones that are also highly water and dust resistant. The sad part is those phones rarely make it here to the US but rumor is Sprint will be carrying the Z3 and if they do that'll be my next phone.

Heard Verizon is getting it exclusive...(1920x1080 is getting dated) screen isn't big enough anyway.
I am either getting the LG G3,Note 4 or seeing what the M9 is all about.
I want a 64 bit Android phone or Tegra based*shrugs*

Verizon was rumored to be getting the Z2, the sprint Z3 rumor started up last week.

I'm still using a phone with a 720p 4.7 inch screen and it's already nice enough, I don't see the need for 1080p when you are talking phone sized screens let alone anything higher res. The LG G3 has a 2K screen and most of the reviews I've read said that you really had to try to see much of a difference between 1080p and 2k at that size.

I saw the LG G3 in person and noticed a difference in clarity.
Oh and Verizon is getting it. :( I am a ATT guy.

Ah ok so that's new, there had been rumors about the Z2 coming to Verizon for a while http://www.phonearena.com/news/Leak...ria-Z2-is-still-coming-to-the-carrier_id57932.

It would make sense to put the Z3 out on both Verizon and Sprint since both are CDMA, hopefully the rumors are true for both. As far as the G3 I was pretty interested in it until I read the reviews, I was also a bit bummed out that they didn't go for the water/dust resistance like Sony and to a lesser extent Samsung have. From what I've read (other than from you of course) that the difference in resolution is barely noticeable and that it really kills the battery life.

Try it in person and read some better reviews its the top NA android phone atm.

It's also the latest release I believe, every time a new one (high end android phone) comes out it takes the top spot lol.

I was going to get a iPhone, but due to ordering trouble decided to wait. But Im on the edge plan so I can upgrade at my leisure.
