Should whether or not a mod actually play certain types of games factor in to whether or not he can moderate a specific forum? I don't think so. They have a job to do. If they do it, good for them, if they don't they get fired by their boss.
Yup, I agree. Being a good mod has very little to do with whether you own a particular console or play a certain type of game. It is a different set of skills -- for example, knowing where the lines are, knowing when and how to intervene, how to communicate, being fair, being willing to wade into conflict and get your hands dirty, being willing to take action even if it means taking flak, etc. It doesn't have much to do with whether you own a particular console or not.
