The streaming video company said Monday that it planned to increase subscription prices for new customers by one or two dollars a month within the next few months. Existing subscribers will be able to continue at their current rate "for a generous time period,"

"If we want to continue to expand, to do more great original content... we have to eventually increase prices a little bit,"

Not surprise. I knew they'd increase the price, eventually.

Yeah, i guess i can't say i'm shocked. I've only had Netflix for 3 months now. It's a steal at $10/month considering all that you get.

Can we get a title update and say for right now it's for new customers.

If they are going to expand their library, then I don't mind.

Yeah, Netflix is a great deal, I don't mind them hiking the price a little. Hopefully not too much, and hopefully the "generous" period for current subscribers is a year or more.

Yup.

I dropped Netflix then moved to Amazon Prime since I order a buttload of stuff from Amazon. Honestly Netflix just doesn't update enough. When you have the same movie under "new movies" for 6 months then you're doing it wrong.

I'm with Bodie above, Netflix doesn't update enough to warrant a price hike. I am lucky in that my mother in law has a sub and we use it so I can't complain, I also have Amazon prime so get the old Lovebox ext but again theres nothing special about that either.

I don't think I would subscribe to Netflix if I wasn't fortunate enough to get it for nothing.

I just use Amazon Prime. Way more money obviously, but I think it's the better deal in the long run.
