interesting, will they make a new Half-life with this thing? humm...

This is obviously what Brad Wardell was refering to for the PS4. Great news all round as now all games including multiplatform will hopefully be built for the new API's.
I think there will be some truly stunning looking games coming out for all platforms this gen.

But PS4 doesnt use OpenGL.

So wait does this news mean good new for PS4 or not? I am confused. Ps4 can use DX12 too can it not? I don't understand any of this s***.

So well the new DX12 and opengl stuff help Sony and PS4 at all?

PS4 cannot use DX12 itself but theres nothing stopping Sony implementing the features that there hardware supports.

PS4 doesn't use any Direct X API. Or OpenGL.

Unfortunately, this means that PS4 games will now run at 720p with black bars.

everything helps the ps4 while @ the same time drains the life essence from xb1

PS4 already has a low level API for draw call efficiency and other low level things.

Both consoles are going to get API/software updates that max the potential of the hardware. Comparing hardware to hardware is more useful.
