I guess its the same thing that Nintendo went through with Amazon for a while. Both played hard ball for years.
Ah, so that must be what's happening. I didn't know Nintendo went through something similar. Ok, so this could take a while...

Yooka-Laylee sold a million. So there you go.

Fallout 76, One Week After Release, Has Already Been Discounted by Bethesda Themselves

"Not only does the official Bethesda store have the game on sale for a lower price of $40, but almost every other big online retailer seems to have a similar price as well."

La Bamba.
I spent $30 plus tax as i got $50 Xbox credit for $40.

My son wanted it ignoring all the warnings...

With all skus available at Amazon, it’s already “awhile”.

Hopefully they get it fixed and he can enjoy it, ESO is fun but I didn't play that until it had been out for years so I don't know what kind of shape it was in at launch.

It's not back to normal, though. I mean, look at the results you posted. Do they make any sense to you? The base Xbox One and the Xbox X are both outselling the PS4? Really? That has never happened, ever. And it's supposedly happening at a time when the PS4 is running a $199 Spider-Man bundle, which by all accounts is flying off the shelves. Makes no sense.

Amazon just isn't a reliable source of information when it comes to Xbox vs. PS4.

A lot of times things are sold out (like that Spider-Man bundle not being available until Nov 30th) so you see the console much further down the list than it should be because they just don't have them to sell at the moment. Even their annual list doesn't make much sense, the PS4 is still the best selling console in the US this year and they have it at number 52 on their list with the switch having two other bundles ahead of it.

It must hurt Sony knowing it has to gear up for next gen, in the next year or two, despite the fact that the PS4 is still red hot. If Xbox was selling just as hot, or close to it, we wouldn't see any next gen consoles until at least 2021.

Well, the thing about Sony is, their old consoles continue to sell, beyond the end of the generation. PS5 won't kill PS4. It will continue to sell, and they'll keep it alive as long as its viable (10 years total?).

It's a bumper week for UK video game sales, with 1.66 million boxed games sold and more than £53 million in revenue.

Unfortunately, it's a weaker Black Friday than last year, with revenue down 4.6 per cent and unit sales down 6.7 per cent.

There's a few caveats to consider, of course. The first is that digital sales are not included - we do not know if download sales over Black Friday were up or down. In addition, Black Friday ran for a far longer period this year, having started (in some cases) up to two weeks before.

Discounting on FIFA 19 propelled the EA game to the top of the charts (it was also bundled with PS4 consoles). The title's average selling price was just over £30 (on Switch), and under £40 (on Xbox One and PS4), which meant the game shot up 177 per cent in sales to reclaim No.1.

Also firing back up the charts with an impressive 360 per cent sales rise was Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Activision's game was discounted even further, selling at just over £35 on average.

It means Red Dead Redemption 2 (which wasn't discounted) fell to No.3. But even the Rockstar game enjoyed a small sales improvement (up 36 per cent) thanks to hardware bundling with PS4.

All of this means that the one big new release of the week, Battlefield V, had to settle for No.4. It's not a great start for EA's shooter, with launch sales down more than 63 per cent compared with 2016's Battlefield 1. Even with the expected rise in digital sales, it seems like the shooter is another AAA title to struggle in the current marketplace. However, it did perform better in its first week than titles such as Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Fallout 76.

One interesting stat about Battlefield V is that the game sold best (in a box) on Xbox One. Microsoft's console accounted for 50 per cent of the game's sales.

It wasn't the only new release in the charts, however. The impressive Farming Simulator 2019 makes it to No.16, while Bendy and the Ink Machine comes in at No.30.

As for last week's big new games, Fallout 76 dropped 51 per cent in sales week-on-week. Bethesda's game was discounted slightly over Black Friday (barely a week since it came out) and now sits at No.7.

The online title is just ahead of Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu at No.8, which saw sales drop 43 per cent week-on-week. That game's sister title, Pokémon Let's Go Eevee, dropped 55 per cent in sales and is at No.18.

However, it was Spyro Reignited Trilogy that endured the heaviest fall. Sales fell 62 per cent week-on-week and the game tumbled from No.1 to No.9.

Black Friday is a big sales period for hardware, and you'll often find exclusive games (particularly those bundled with the consoles) tend to perform strongly during the weekend. According to retailers talking to Gamesindustry.biz, more than 300,000 consoles were sold over Black Friday. It was pretty close between all three formats, but we understand that PS4 was the best-selling machine, narrowly ahead of Xbox One, which was narrowly ahead of Nintendo Switch. Over Black Friday, PS4 consoles were being sold at just over £220 (with bundles featuring FIFA 19 or Red Dead Redemption 2), Xbox One was on sale for as low as £170 with a game (including Forza Horizon 4, Minecraft or Battlefield V), while Nintendo Switch saw its first real price drop, falling by around £20 in price overall.

As a result, Xbox One exclusives such as Forza Horizon 4 (No.5), Minecraft Master Edition (No.33) and Forza Motorsport 7 (No.34) all shot up the charts, with sales rising 535 per cent, 1768 per cent and 573 per cent respectively.

PS4 exclusives Spider-Man (No.6), God of War (No.21) and Detroit: Become Human (No.35), saw sales rise 634 per cent, 1283 per cent and 826 per cent respectively.

I'll sticky this thread, because we're always adding to it.

Nintendo Switch Sales Set Black Friday Week Record in the US

Stronger sales than even the Wii ever managed in this period.

The Big N, in a press release today, announced that the Nintendo Switch saw the highest sales any Nintendo console has seen during Black Friday week in the United States. That includes consoles like the Wii, which created records with how many consoles they moved in this critical shopping period—and implies that in these five days alone, Nintendo may have moved north of 800,000 units of the Switch.

This performance is actually up by 115% over the same period in 2017, and was driven no doubt by more aggressive bundles this year, as well as the critical launch of Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! the week prior. Nintendo also notes that Super Mario Party has now sold in excess of 1 million units in North America alone, becoming the fastest selling game in the series in the process.

I liked how at E3 Howard mentioned Elder Scrolls 6 as the game everyone keeps asking him about, than WTF haven't they made it yet? lol

I know ES Online does pretty well and is fun, I enjoy playing it from time to time so maybe they figured they needed a Fallout equivalent but FO76 looks like a cluster f*** and seems to be something that either never should have been made or should have been pushed back to mid-late 2019.

They need such a level of ungodly s*** flung at them for sticking with Gamebryo (Creation Engine). They need to let it die, and they are being waaay stubborn. Howard even said they were using it for ES 6. They are so lazy that bugs persist from previous games that were fixed in the old game by MODDERS. People need to set them straight.

I don't know how companies like Bethesda and Bioware (different reasons) can move on to new generations and their games just look like prettied up versions of past generation games. I love the ES series but Bethesda needs to make some big chances, it's too slow and stiff, it moves like an old school PC FPS and the animations all around are terrible. They build such immersive worlds even with all of their flaws, imagine how good a new ES would be if it was up to the standards of other games in the genre. I am not a Fallout fan and I find FO4 to be boring as hell but it too looks like a crossgen game at best.

I loved Skyrim, played it two and a half times. But after Fallout 4, Fallout Shelter, Fallout 76, clinging to Gamebryo, etc., I'm getting the sense that Bethesda has lost their way. I guess most creative people or companies go through that process -- they are great for a while, and then they slowly become a shadow of their former selves. It's too bad. They produced two of my favorite games of all time. Now they just seem to be chasing money and cutting corners.

This is a case of pure laziness and complacency, and I don't like to use those words. The fact that the modding community is outstripping the actual developers says it all. They chuck stuff out riddled with bugs and poor design at full price and wait for someone else to pick up the slack for free. Then they soak up the fan praise. THAT is why they are sticking with their engine.

It's pretty disgusting.

That's kind of weird. I didn't know Battlefield games did well in Japan.

I'd be really curious what the percentages are (X relative to overall Xbox One sales). These statements about it "performing phenomenally" make me curious. It isn't the first time Mat has said something like that. Of course, Mat won't say what the actual numbers are, and neither will MS, but it does sound encouraging. And well deserved.

"Console warring on the internet is one of the dumber things people do." Ha, so true.

Anyhow, it's good to see quality getting rewarded.

I know you are not a fan of Amazon, but until today at least, the Xbox One X was outselling every Xbox One S sku besides Minecraft one.

Wouldn't it be something if the X was out selling the other Skus ( one and S). Like as an exec I wouldn't know what to do with that kind of data.

Interesting. There was the $400 sale, so it makes sense it would surge.

I just don't like amazon for comparisons involving the PS4. It's probably fine for comparing Xbox products or Xbox vs. Switch.

That would be something else, for a $500 ($400) product to be outselling a $200 one. I think I'd want to boast about that, if I were Phil Spencer. It would really show what a success the X is.

As long as it's good enough to keep them wanting to make quality hardware, I don't care what the numbers are!

Where is Horizon 4?
On Gamepass. It only takes a few hours to realize the game is just more of the same and that the whole " seasons change everything" was nothing but a bulls*** marketing ploy for an insignificant main new feature.
