I have tested a few games on the above machine, all at 1920x1080 res.

Battlefield 4 Ultra + High FXAA (no MSAA) 90 FOV: 60-80 FPS.
Crysis 3 on All High settings + 16X Antistropic + 2xSMAA: 55-65 FPS
Thief all Max settings minus SSAA which is off, FXAA on, 16X Anistropic, 90 FOV: 60-70 FPS
Titanfall all max settings settings + 4xMSAA + 16X Anistropic: Solid 60fps

BF4 & TitanFall of particular note here.

Consoles am cry.

I knew what the card was capable of I just didn't know what it would be capable of in conjuction with that CPU. The 4570 is a 200mhz lower clocked 4670K that had a locked multiplier. Had zero plans of overclocking the cpu so that's why I went with the 4570, and since I wasn't overclocking I got a cheapo mobo to go with it, I think it was 90 bucks lmao.

How much would that PC cost if you had to buy everything from scratch (not including the monitor)?

It's a moot point really as I've seen a dozen or so "pc build to kill new-gen consoles for < $600" with some as low as $450. I'm just curious is all.

It's funny, because we can already build PC's that perform as well as, if not better than, new-gen consoles for not much more than they cost. So what happens in 2-3 years when we can build an absolute new-gen killer for $500?

Oh yeah, the consoles will be $300-400.

Hope that $100 saving is worth half the library and functionality, heh.
Yes, in 2 years time, & the optimization of DX12, I expect you can build a PC that run circles around consoles for same or cheaper. Now, it will cost a bit more. But you do get more, as in can do more stuff on PC (edit photos, balance account, write articles etc) than console, which is a big plus point. Beside not needing to pay a annual service to do mostly (except free games per month) what you already can do on PC for free.

Less than 1/2 year in, & consoles are already struggling to runs some games (Watchdog sub Full HD & 30fps), is not good sign, as far as performance goes. I think this may be the first gen where I game more on PC than consoles.

Well I finally got around to taking pics of the next gen console killer, my girlfriends Sim 3 rig. This PC is considered a "hobbled mess" because it was not bought from PCpartpicker.com, and also I am "poor and don't know how to build PCcorrectly" according to some console fanboy dweeb.

*THIS IS NOT MY MAIN RIG, MY MAIN RIG IS WELL DOCUMENTED IN THIS THREAD*

Intel i5 4570 w/ cooler master hyper 212 evo
ASRock pro 3
8GB of DDR3 Corsair Vengeance
500 GB HDD
Sapphire 7950 boost overclocked to 1100 mhz on the core, 1350 on the mem.
Corsair GS800 PSU

Total cost 390 dollars, only the CPU/GPU/MOBO were bought from ebay/microcenter, the rest I had laying around.

Wait, the top of the console is also the mouse pad. Now this is interesting. You got a gaming Girlfriend, so lucky.

Na it's not a mouse pad it's just a platform for which you could put random s***, what's laying there is a Xbox 360 wireless controller adapter

Can you guys please list out your specs? I want to learn how to build a PC. Anything to help me learn.

As for building and build ideas...

There is a plethora of videos on youtube obviously. One of my favorite channels is LinusTechTips
For build ideas and a very rough idea of what it will cost you, this is a great thread over at MMO-Champion.

Plus there are many of us here that would be happy to offer advice on parts, where to buy them and how to assemble them, so don't be afraid to ask.

I thought about preordering the omni but ultimately decided against it. Gonna wait to see how all of these VR inputs shake out.

I would get it. I'd go for an omni w/ Oculist over Kinect any day, for gaming.

Oh yeah for sure, but there's a lot you can do with a gamepad, wheel, flying stick. I don't know, oculus needs to come out (and have confirmed to be working on) their own first party input device. We really need gloves with haptic feedback! That's probably 10 years away tho. Lol

My rig:

i5-4670k
gigabyte mobo (forgot the model) It was 170 bucks though.
evga SC'd gtx 780
16gb of corsair vengence pro ram

Never seen you around here before. I see that you rarely are, but it's always good to see another fellow PC gamer. You should come by often.

Do you guys also use the PC rig to power the electricity & heating in the house! I do not think I wanted to pose mine rig after seeing others.

Corsair hx850 ftw! Lol
Probably the best power supply for the money, 80 watt gold semi modular I got mine for 130 bucks, the funny thing is I wasn't even in the market per Se for a psu, I saw the price on it and I knew it's reputation so I bought it.
