Nintendo’s own official Gamecube controllers don’t work with the Wii U without a special adapter, and when they do, the only game they can be used to play is Super Smash Bros. Fortunately, these restrictions don’t apply to the Wii U controllers PDP are releasing.

PDP’s “Wired Fight Pad” controllers are Wii U controllers that are designed to look and feel like Gamecube controllers. They have a similar shape and button layout, and come in Nintendo-styled themes like Link, Samus, Donkey Kong and Wario. A Wired Fight Pad controller plugs directly into the Wii Remote and will work with any Wii/Wii U game that supports the Classic Controller, the Classic Controller Pro.

Just ordered the Mario version. Was looking for another Wii/U pro controller and these look slick, hopefully the quality is up to snuff.

They should make a Zelda/Link inspired one too.

I don't have a Wii-mote so what is the advantage of this over the official deal and the adapter?

Cheaper for one :) and it can be used as a Wii or WiiU pro controller. Has all the buttons the WiiU pro controller offers and from what I have read it can be used for VC games.

Already have a Pro controller so don't need another. Also not a fan of all the fancy colors. I'd rather just have a boring black controller. Spending a few extra bucks won't be a problem.

lol here ya. Think the GC adapter are more for nostalgia than function but if I come across the adaptor for a good price will probably check it out.

One thing is for sure, Nintendo sure like to have lots of controllers.

Awesome!

These controllers look awesome. They should just keep making them or every character we can think of.

Yea I read this on Destructoid this weekend and it makes no sense, just like the possibility of discontinuing Marth, The Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, etc. WE WANT THESE NINTENDO QUIT BONERING US

Really sucks about the Amiibo's. I have a few but unless you pre-order there is no guarantee you will get one because of the ebay sellers :(

I will probably pre-order Captain Falcon and Little Mac from the next release, and maybe Bowser, Ike, and Shulk from the last.

Got the controller today. Have not used it yet but it fits like a glove and c-stick is a major improvement over the GC.
