Talking with TiC Podcast, Phil Spencer confirmed that the Xbox One will be receiving custom backgrounds, themes and screenshot functionality in the future.

In response to the question about the Xbox One UI, Phil Spencer elaborated that they are working on including the features in the monthly updates, owing to development time and priorities.

"You will see , I'll announce it here, I was told themes and background pics are something that we are working on, and screen shots!"

Screenshots... finally. It was always weird that we could record video but not take a picture.
 
Im thinking the screenshots thing will be customisable? like you can add effects and what not.
oh wait it says "in the future" that can be a while now that i think about it.
 
hope themes are more than just background.

saying that what can they do other than changing box colors lol
 
Is there a transcript of this anywhere? I don't feel like listening for 45mins. I'd much rather read it in a few minutes and carry on.
 
That's about all i'm missing right now. The Xbox One has come a long way in just a year.
 
Good stuff. Time to get creative. Although for 360, my fav background was the free Black Ops background.
 
I still miss my LA Kings background I got from (I think) NHL '06 (or 2k6?). Now that they're finally all the awesome that they weren't for more decades than even I've been alive, it'd be nice to represent.
