Hardware, yes.
Software has fell off last gen and this gen. Lost a lot of diversity and creativity. Playstation is basically a 3rd person action game box now.
I think all 3 console makers actually put out amazing hardware, which is why I don't want any of them to leave the hardware space. Playstations are solidly built with minimal issues. Xboxes are designed well but really shine with their ever evolving OSes and feature sets. Nintendos are always innovative.
Well at least now both platforms are known for their horizons and pc ports
Doubt it, PlayStation doesn’t support a web browser, officially, there are arduous methods tho, a lot of hoops
What if they make a new one, a stripped down version, maybe one oled screen and runs at 1080 p.
They can then sell this as the “new pro” variant, and the casuals will never know.
at the end of the day it's a niche product, at a niche price, that was produced at mass scale, with not a lot of software to back it or justify the price. It's a nice piece of tech, but thats about it.
That's the issue, you have to invest so much into properly supporting something like this that it makes it not worth it.
I wouldn't buy one at that price either. If you have any interest in VR then Meta Quest seems the way to go.
