Oh No Fire GIF

I'm guessing within a year or 2 they will go to PC release 6 months after console then finally same day.

But honestly who knows, they did admit to that what they’re currently doing isn’t sustainable, since their own games aren’t the biggest sellers on their platform. Maybe not a day in day release.

They should’ve kept dreams alive tho, preferably on pc or on psvr2.

I’m not the biggest fan of most of their games tho, horizon, infamous, death stranding, almost every Japan studio (rip) game

Their big hit releases still sell like hot cakes. See Spidey 2, God of war, last of us, horizon etc. probably for live service games or smaller games maybe sooner ?

2 first party games this year are day one on PC. It’s already begun. Sony is making record low profits and see that they need to make that up.

Yup. This time he says consoles, not just PlayStation. They are already making Marathon for Xbox, as well as MLB the Show for Xbox (and day one on Game Pass).

It was later clarified by him that it meant mostly PC/PS. I can see if for live service games. For single player, I believe they will still do a timed window in between because 1) allows for better sales for console platform and 2) allows for better optimization of the title on the hardware and 3) I forget if it was the Insomniac leak but basically showed how putting the games on the PS plus subscription service cannibalized the sales and revenue (as expected)

Did he mention “no switch and Xbox for you….peasants, pffft”? Or just reinforce ps and pc?

I think in insomniac’s case it’s bad for them because of the licensing fees and agreement that it they’d rather have what they make from it is from sales directly, cos they only broke even after seven million in sales, not including extra spent on stuff like marketing.

I’m sure if the game was of their own IP it would be a different case, especially if it were a mp or GAAS game.

But maybe not, if their ps+ numbers are hurting then it may not make sense or it could to help it, ps+, grow. It’s like a double edge blade.

Another factor would be if they’d release a f2p game. Atm they don’t even need to, they can get away with selling a game that’s probably better off as a f2p game and wait for the season pass revenue/profit.

But Sony as a whole is hurting, and probably not in their best interest to do new f2p. Their film, cameras and tv sides are hurting, I think their insurance is ok tho, they don’t talk much about that tho.

And they’ve made like four different internals for the ps5, they’re obviously saving some money with using much less copper for cooling and their dye shrinkage.

As a leader with historical brand name cache they don’t have to lower the price. They said their a premium gaming experience, so that comes with premium pricing. Look at their TVs, I know I am 😆

Thats Good Robert Deniro GIF

Just read the article. He didn’t rule out Xbox or Switch in the interview. He went vague.

Imagine the internets reaction if something Phil Spencer said needed clarifying.

Sony will copy MS and start porting select games to other consoles within 2 years.

I can see live service games going to other platforms to widen the margins.

Sony CEO specifically mentioned PC, Mobile and Cloud

Kenichiro: Playstation will remain our core product, we will expand our gaming experiences to PC, Mobile & Cloud.

Yup, seems like they are all over the place. In their interview they said PS5, PC and other platforms. Sounds like Xbox and Switch could be getting more Sony games than they are already getting.

Hell divers seems like the best and maybe quickest turnaround, maybe get bend or another support studio to aid with the port, that and bend has knowledge of those other two devkits
