[8 Megabits/sec or 1 Megabyte/sec] I may which from 8Mb/s to 16Mb/s with my provider so I can download Steam games faster.

Wi-Fi @ home on my phone. The only device i have hardwired is my 360. I should hardwire my computer and see what I get, supposedly I have 30/15 according to Comcast...

I need to find a way to hardwire my computer too. It's just too far away, don't really want to have an ethernet cable running throughout my apartment, and I want the X1 hardwired for sure.

Run it along the molding and around door molding or go under carpet.
 


85 a month for this s*** but at least its unlimited my ass can pull down over a TB a month.

$85/mth? Looks like you got one of the high end packs. I just switched from Rogers to Start. Was thinking of TekSavvy, but heard it's hit and miss performance though cheap for 300gb. I did Start's unlimited internet for $50 for one of their lower end choices.

Thank god some people got me to look into alternatives. My old Rogers pack was an old one for $50 + fees/tax for 60 gb and slower download/upload. Now it's $50, unlimited, and about double the speed for download/upload! Or I could have gone the $40 price and get 150gb which is still plenty. Start's $100 one-time modem fee pays for itself in one year as I think I was paying $8/mth for Rogers' modem.

Over wifi on a cheap USB wireless adapter. Depending on it's mood I can get up to 60-70mbit down but it usually doesn't hold. Wired I'd get 120mbit down.

It is simple plug & play. Put one( they usually come in pairs) powerline Unit in a power socket near your modem( or router if you want/need it here) and connect it via ethernet. Then put the second unit near where it is needed. Depending on your needs, you can then hook up a router to it for multiple devices, or straight to a singular device. Done, you now have a hard wired connection with out a big messy wire running through your home. You can can then add other units to other rooms if you need too.

Basically they just use your home electrical wiring as an ethernet cable. All you do is create an input and output.

You should. I used to have a 30foot cable running up stairs( horrible) and then gave these a shot and never looked back. As you can tell from my speed test earlier in the thread, my speed is spot on.

So no speed loss packet loss or anything? Do they work well on a power bar or do you have them plugged right into the socket?

I'd like to give them a shot but man they're not cheap.
