Question about XBL avatars

I am about to be back online again with the One and I do not want a goofy ass looking avatar. Is there a way to remove it from my profile or substitute it with a pic or something? I was on the profile editor on xbox.com and didnt see a away to do this
 
I believe you get an avatar, whether you want one or not. Best to not make them look goofy. :)
 
Yes they are still around but people don't see them online in lobbies. Not even now unless its an avatar game of course.

In fact on the friends list you see the gamer pic.
 
I wouldn't mind them if they weren't so flamboyant. I have nothing against being flamboyant but I would have liked the choice to limit my avatar doing pirouettes (thank god for auto correct).
 
you can make your new avatar look like you or import your old avatar
on the xbox 360 your friends can see your avatar
I will assume its the same for the ONE
 
Do we get to keep our avatar clothes and props when we move to X1? I have an awesome ME suit and a pet chocoobo.

No mention but happy I never bought anything for my avatar. Just use the stuff I unlocked from playing games.


Edit correction I bought a Ryo jacket cause you know Shenmue.

I only ever bought stuff when I had a small amount of MS points that I couldn't really afford anything.
