Who the F decided it was a good idea to make video game characters ugly AF?
Depends on one’s definition on what they find attractive, no?
Like people just like elbows, feet and or size of said feet, or even height.
Beauty is subjective. For sure, but the distribution is not random., it follows a tilted bell curve, & you can very confidencely made characters within 2 sigma (95%) of what is regarded as beauty. using this curve.
To evaluate, if you plot a curve on the body shape from skinny to obese on X scale, & get enough sample size to decide which shape is ideal, you will get the super skinny & obese far end of the curve, & healthy range will be somewhere near the peak of the bell.
You can for sure not get 100% to agree what is pretty. but you can for sure make character that be regarded as breauty by vast majority of people.
I once had a discussion with someone when I commented how a"modern art" statue looks like poop. He said, looks is subjective. It can be a masterpeice to someone.
I told him, if that is the case, the word masterprice has no value. If I can slamp the piano and make a series of sound than claim this is a masterpiece because I think so, then we can forget about classic music. As a music teacher, I just tell students, its a masterprice if you think so, no matter how bad they play,

It’s all just human construct that’s in-forced by others if similar feeling, be it of their own free will, nature, environment or forced upon them. Like the art world, paintings are valued by how much it can sell for after the artist is dead, by a select few of people. They’re really just irl NFTs

But I doubt she’ll be a selectable character. Wasn’t there a character creator in the original games? I never played it…
There's A LOT more to be complaining about in the games industry right now other than the appearance of characters within the games. I don't even see anything wrong with the pictures that were posted.
People can complain about multiple things simultaneously, you know. And you're missing the point anyway.

No, I belive he got that burly look that some women and men get turned on by. More like a herculean physique than Adonis if you will. I don't find it very physically pleasing though he do carry a lot of muscles.

Nah he's a big strong guy too but he had a better face model and a better voice actor IMO, of course they use a very exaggerated style for the male faces in Gears.
Dom looks fine, but he's no marcus... too emotional and bitchy. Marcus is a real man - no bitchy feelings, just full blown muscles and testosteron.
They basically have the same build, one just looks like a ton of bricks fell on his face and sounds like a cartoon character lol.
