Resigned as mod

Wow, 8 years. Yeah, that would be hard to transition, after that long. I'd like to hear the story sometime of how they "f*cked you over," but I guess maybe later.

Yeah, I'm enjoying it. The biggest change is reading only what I want to read, and ignoring the rest. That makes a big difference.

Well, there's a mod seat open, so I'm sure Plainview will be appointing someone else to fill the spot soon.

start a conversation anytime, I will fill you in ;)

Suffice to say, it was backhanded and full of bulls***.

Ah, nobody cares illiniguy. So just shove it.

Aww, thought you were a great mod but can understand your reasons why you wanted to resign. All you mods don't get enough credit for all the hard work you do keeping up with all the craziness that occurs on gaming forums and I think you all have done an excellent job!!

Thanks, MasterMama. Support your local mods. It's a thankless and unpaid job, and you spend most of your time dealing with the armpit of the forum.

My first instinct was to decline to be a moderator. I probably should've gone with that instinct, but I was seduced by all the glamour and power.

I think being a mod is great for forum members. U get to see the drudge of the forums and remind yourself not to be like them

You were a great mod Andy,But you do have to find time for yourself. Anyway can you banned my ass one last time?Haha joking

So that's why none of my posts were deleted in the past day. I knew something was up. Just kidding! :D

You were a great mod Anderson. Can i still call you that? Sorry, Andy just isn't working for me but i'll get used to it. Anyway, glad you can now enjoy the forums the way you intended from the start. You've earned it.

Thanks, guys. Good to be back. :)

Yeah, Andy will always be Anderson to me....Andy hasn't stuck with me yet. But he is still the same :)

Just think of it as short for Anderson. I do. But I'll answer to either.

Anderson, you were the best mod at either site. No offense to the rest.

But I understand your reasoning. I wouldn't be able to do it either.

Thanks.

Thanks, Dno, I really appreciate that. It means a lot to me, to have the respect of people like you (people who I respect, people whose posts I always look forward to reading).

You know, I was thinking of nominating you for mod -- you've always kept your cool under fire, seem really friendly, have a balanced way of looking at things, and don't get involved in the console war BS -- but I figured you wouldn't be interested.

Thanks Anderson.

I try to stay balanced but slip from time to time. Mainly just from joking around though.

Well, you can't take this stuff too seriously. I think joking about it is a sign of sanity.

That was actually part of why I ended up resigning, btw. I was taking things too seriously and losing my sense of humor. I would've had a nicer time, if I had just relaxed my standards, took things less seriously, let things slide, and accepted things the way they are. That would be my advice for any incoming mod -- don't take things too seriously, let a lot of things slide, and just accept TXB's/Unions norms. I couldn't follow that advice myself, because if you put me in a position of authority/responsibility, I'm going to feel obligated to address things I see as going astray. It's nice to be a member again and just chuckle at or ignore those things.

Well, I'd just like to say Andy was a pretty approachable mod to talk to, had a few pm's now and then. Always friendly and helpful. Thanks for the hard work!

Now you can relax and just cruise the forums. ;)

Thanks, guys. I think I've made the transition. I'm back to feeling like a normal forum member again. It's got upsides and downsides. The main upside is that I don't spend all my time in the armpit of the forum, trying to make it smell better. I can just bypass it. The downside is that I've lost all my mod powers and people don't suck up to me anymore.

I'll continue to suck up to you just in case you become a mod again. :)

Sad to see you go.
I think you are one of the better people/mods on this site.

Union is the poorer without you as a mod.
That being said HOW THE f*** AM I SUPPOSED TO FINISH MY COMIC NOW!!??:txbmad::txbmad:

Thanks, Ascalaphus or The Living Tribunal (or whatever inscrutible name you'll come up with next, lol). That was my biggest regret in resigning -- that I would mess up the next installment of The Union Effect. I'm sure you'll come up with something, though. Have Plainview jettison me out an airlock, lol.
