New images from the next PS4 system software update has been leaked, The new images showcasing a new design, Folders added and the system notification in game.

So, now you can create folders to arrange your games with this new update, Notifications are better and more…

The last PS4 software update was released two weeks ago in July 29, Software update 1.75.

Are we ever going to get a notification for when friends come online?
 
The overall UI is quite lacking. Folders would be helpful.
 
Yes, please bring folders for games because the interface is a mess. Another thing is I get a stupid notification when a friend is in a party but no notification when a friend is online. There are certainly some tweaks needed for the PS4 UI. But I hope they keep the speed and responsiveness.
 
Going back to XMB would be better. Instead of a ridiculous infinite tile bar. The new notifications are nice tho.

I don't think the UI is a mess. It's the most organized, quick and responsive out of the 3 next-gen consoles from my experience although it is quite simple. It gets the job done but I wouldn't mind having extra convenient features such as friends coming online notifications, folders, dynamic themes and ability to change background.
 
There is no organization on PS4. It's just a row of tiles.

I meant overall. Everything is listed on the top and you click into what area you want. Trophies are organized and easily accessible. It's easy to create a party and go through your friends list, it's easy to take screenshots, go through your shots, copy to USB, upload to Twitter/FB etc.

Well you can do folders on ps3 why they removed that is beyond me. Like others said the endless bar is getting on my nerves.

It doesn't bother me all that much right now but a folder would be nice, I have purchased around 15 games since the PS4 launched (that's not counting the free ones included with PS+) and have another 9 pre ordered. I guess it helps that I've traded in several of the games so they no longer show up but by the the end of February that bar will be pretty long.
 
I liked the in game notifications that was shown in the last of us screenshot, hope that will actually be implemented sometime. Folders would be cool too also i hope they add dlna support soon

I wouldn't call the UI a mess either but it is very bare bones. I guess thats what gives it the snappy response. I would like to see it a bit more refined personally. The Xbox One UI looks much nicer and is more functional but really held back by sluggish responses with all the apps it has to load

When both consoles first came out, I raved about the PS UI over the X1 UI, But now with all the updates and reorganizing and improvement received on the X1, I now find that to be the better UI. Feedback helped that get to where it is today.

I just hope that the "fake" above really isn't fake...cuz I love it.
 
I'm fine with the current UI for the time being, but it needs to get updated sooner or later. I don't play enough different titles for it to be an issue right now, but can see how it will eventually get out of hand.

I've only got 6 or 7 games on my hard drive and already it's getting a little silly.
