Not really optimistic about getting some success here, but figure it's worth a shot.

I am a recently admitted Computer Science student. I am actually getting my Master's in the field. I got my Undergraduate degree at Rutgers University with a 3.68 GPA. I got my Bachelor's in a different field, however, so my CS background is equivalent to an undergraduate. I am currently learning Java and I go to NJIT.

I am sorry if this is not an appropriate place to post, but hey, I've tried other outlets and haven't gotten much success, so I figure why not here?

Have you tried talking to your professors at all? Not a sure thing, but MAYBE they could help you in your search. It is in fact about who you know.

I asked them casually, but they said they are not aware of anything specific and that I have to do the work to find something. I am not a bad student, ready to work hard and learn, haha. I guess it's just so competitive now and the country is only getting more educated.

The good times I've had at Rutgers. I still randomly stop at those grease trucks to get a Fat Knight or Fat Cat when passing through.

Bump. Months old. Still applies.

I got a internship by looking up craigslist. Was also in talks for a music video project that went nowhere, but I got a reply. Craigslist has been surprisingly effective, maybe because the people looking for employess/interns can be more forgiving about inexperience in one's chose industry.

Check other local schools if you haven't already. I work in higher ed and we;re always looking for students with a tech background. You may only get a low level support job but that's how I got my foot in the door.

Also, if you want to commute to Buffalo... :)

That'd be quite the drive every day.
