Star Trek: Discovery

BTW, I'm a massive Star Trek fan.

If anyone is kind of interested in watching this, or is watching it and trying really hard to keep going, watch The Expanse instead. It's sooooo much better than Discovery and has a very similar hard/dark sci fi feel.

Oh and cross your fingers that Tarantinos Star Trek comes through.

I love the Expanse, it's a bit slower paced than Discovery but it's a great show, I also liked Dark Matter but sadly that was cancelled. I think if Discovery were something other than Star Trek it wouldn't get so much grief but because it's so unlike any other show in a long standing beloved franchise it opens it's self up for criticism. I'm judging it based on what it's giving me vs what I want it to be, it's not perfect and I do feel like they could do some things better but visually it's amazing (other than the Klingons) and I like the serious tone.
